Talks about signing Shaq, trading for Kobe, the pressure being too much, etc.

Also says that we never attempted a trade for Charles Barkley.

West mentions during the Eddie Jones years about a possible trade that didn't go through that could have had a big impact but didn't look great on paper at the time. He says it wasn't Charles Barkley. Anyone know who it was?

I would think it was the rumored Mitch Richmond-Eddie Jones trade. Eddie went on a tear following the news of that rumor. Imagine if the Lakers had a prime Mitch Richmond, which would also mean the Kings would never have had Chris Webber. Or if the trade was made and then they got Webber in the offseason. Shaq-Webber-Kobe for the next several years to terrorize the league.

Re-listening it, I think maybe Jerry was talking about trading a first rounder for Cedric Ceballos?

Richmond is one of the most underrated players IMO, because he played in Jordan's prime. Switch them out and Chicago still has four rings.
