Quote:
Mostly it was Shaq and Kobe didn’t like each other, but it didn’t affect them on the court. They would say something about the other, on or off the record, but it didn’t become confrontational more than two or three times over the eight years. When Kobe gave the statement to Jim Gray where he went off calling Shaq fat and lazy, that was one of the times. There was one really bad one, early on. Brian Shaw had to pull them apart. Shaq threatened to murder Kobe.

Meh. People say things when they're mad and Shaq had every right to be mad.

This is very much a 2.0 type thread.

Not really. Kobe is the one who should've been mad because Shaq was fat, lazy, uncommitted, etc.

Think this just shows what a scum bag Shaq really is.

Who cares, Kobe and Shaq realized they cost themselves 2-3 more rings. Instead of just 3 together, it should have been AT LEAST 5 rings.

The professional thing would have been to keep it behind closed doors instead of throwing Shaq under the bus like that (it wasn't the first time).

In either case, it's still a non-story. Shaq never actually plotted to murder Kobe so, this is ridiculous and a lock is in order I think.

well, winning cures everything. toward the end of that era the team was old and fatigued thanks to lack of new blood been injected to the roster, partly due to Phil's picky nature of playing unknown players, partly due to lack of innovative moves on Mitch.

And Kobe was literally tired of being second fiddle.

The professional thing to do would have been for Shaq to act professional and committed in the first place.

Shaq and Kobe pissed at each other while winning chips.
Seems polar opposite to things nowadays.
Durant and Westbrook get along despite never winning. Same with Howard and Harden.

I wish they had pissed off each other for another 8 seasons. They would have won 9 titles and Kobe would really be pissed off because he was only responsible for 5 and half of them as he had to carry fat n lazy but still effective Shaq.

I'm gonna guess there are more that do than don't.

Why would anyone bring this up over a decade after it was old news?

Time to re-evaluate someone's thread starting capabilities?
