Would we have won more rings since 08 if we would have kept Marc?

Two rings=yes. However, if we could rewind the clock, you do everything possible to make the deal without involving Marc.

We would have none. I would have seen if we could have dealt Sun Yue instead of Marc though.

Pau, Bynum, Marc, and Odom on the same team... Wow.

Yes. Pau was quite randomly my favorite non-Laker before the trade.

No question. Marc's a helluva player, but Pau's prime matched up with Kobe's, which led to titles.

I can't believe people still have the nerve to say the Lakers got Pau for nothing.

How did Minnesota's trade for KG work out for them?

A thousand times, yes. Three straight Finals appearances ensued and we won 2 chips.

Exactly! Pau was T-H-E most perfect compliment to Kobe. It takes certain types of players with certain types of mentalities/attitudes, and certain coaching to play alongside Bryant. Look at what happened with the Dwight Howard experiment.

Absolutely. Pau was an exceptional player when he arrived here, I feel he was underrated when people look back on his time here.

The only thing to try and change about that trade would be trying to include a different piece so we could keep Marc too

Lakers replace Marc for Bynum, knowing what we know now. Lakers run would have been much different.

The Gasol swap was the right move for the Lakers, in every sense: short term, mid-term, long term.

Of course, dangling Pau Gasol as trade bail and eventually letting him walk were moves as idiotic as the original trade was brilliant.
