i think it works cap wise. Lee's on an expiring contract, plus it's not like he sucks or anything.

of course, whey would the dubs do this? maybe jordan or nick, plus some future draft pics? but if we don't pick up hill's option, he's gone anyways, right?

just a thought...

No point in including Hill; the Warriors wouldn't want that contract as they are already happy with Ezeli and Speights as their backups. This is maybe a last resort type of deal similar to how they obtained Lin last summer after striking out.

they are probably trying to trade him to someone who can absorb the contract without them taking salary back like the lakers. they would have to include a additional asset or possibly Lee for nick young. Lee's contract is a ending k while young's still has two more years after next

wouldn't Swaggy P in Oaktown just be fan-tabulous?

Jerry West isn't that stupid to take Jordan Hill and Nick Young. But you can always try. Nick Young might work great on a winning team...

lets take it one step further and do it before the draft...

Jordan hill, nick young, ryan Kelly, #27 and #34 for David lee and Harrison Barnes...

if this trade goes down on draft night what happens?...

well for one... this saves the warriors about $3M dollars on the season... its not a bunch but guess what.... they avoid the lux tax... with the green contract coming they're going to need to avoid that repeater tax in the future...

gets them one extra year of not being in close to that repeater tax...

they get a stretch 4 in ryan Kelly who can hit the 3... and theyd get another infusion of youth with the 27 and 34...

they get instant scoring with nick young even tho he's a bit wild he's a HUGE upgrade over Barbosa...

they even have the option to pick up Hill's option for next year and decline Speights' option of about 3 million... again Hill is another HUGE upgrade over Speights...

so what do we get out of it?...
Barnes... guy can play the 4, play the 3 and would solidify our front court with Barnes, Randle and Okafor our front court is set... we could have about 9 million to go after a guy like Louis Williams to fill the need for scoring off the bench with young gone...

and how does this go down? well david lee and nick young happen to both be represented by Mark Bartelstein.

If you want Lee, just offer them a 2019 2nd round pick and it is a done deal. They would gladly avoid $50 million in salary and taxes.
