Quote:
Friday evening brings some sad news concerning one of the NBA's greats. Charles Barkley's mother Charcey Glenn has passed away in her Alabama home from kidney failure. She was 73.

Barkley has rarely been shy to talk about his beginnings: he was a kid from Leeds, Alabama who took advantage of his talents to play at Auburn University before becoming one of the greatest athletes the NBA has ever known. When Barkley won the NBA MVP in 1993, his mother was right there to celebrate with him.

Been thru it too. It's a crucible of mind and soul. It's like a part of you dies with her. Hope he gets by. Time heels to an extent, but like you said, you're always gonna be forlorn.
