I saw this and wondered if the Lakers would do this until a guy like Butler became an unrestricted Free agent or we draft a guy at small forward with the 27th or 34th pick, giving them a year under their belt.

He is not going to waste what could be his last season on a rebuilding Laker team. He will join a contender to try and win another ring.

I wouldn't mind him being here but I'm with everyone else. Going to a playoff contender that's coached by Doc is too hard to pass up.

Its a waste of time on both parties. He's most likely sign with the clippers.

I definitely wouldn't mind PP. But yes, he's going to a contender.

I'd start a petition to veto this if it did in fact happen.

So what happens when Washington offers Pierce a 3-year, $19 million deal and the Clippers offer a 3-year $10 million deal? Does Doc promise Pierce the ball at the end of a tight game for those hero moments he loves? Does he offer an improved chance at making the finals? Is joining the Clipoers really "coming home" for Pierce?

Pierce could have gone to a contender last year and took the money instead. He had a successful season and plays in the easier conference, including less travel.

The Clippers are nice leverage though.

Southern California already has a bridge to nowhere.
We don't need another one with Pierce.

Puh-leeze. The only way most Laker fans want to hear "Pierce" and "bridge" in the same sentence would be if the former jumps off the latter. Not saying I want this to happen, but still...

Wheelchair in the front row

Love that he grew up a Laker fan.
Such a easy guy to root against in green though!!!
Was rooting for him in Washington, but for any thing more than the vet min, I think its too much. At the vet min, heck yeah. Suspect he's a Clipper next year, like many of the previous posts.
