Dlo/JJ/Ingram/Nance/Zubac is what i want nxt year. JC & Randle off the bench or move them other a stretch 4. We have enough spacing if Nance improves his outside shot in the summer. Our defense will be great all the length and athleticism. Rebing will be great. Last night was when we really needed a defensive stopper at the 2 guard to guard chris paul or JJ Redick. And JJ has the potential to be a lockdown defender.
who feels Dlo should've shot the ball more last night? he was one of the guys who were efficient. Randle got his points by stat padding at the end. Dlo didn't take much shots in the 4th. He was calling for the ball for a few times..but guys like Randle and JC didn't pass to him.

Me. I suspect he didn't want to shoot a lot after his big night and look like a ball hog to the coaching staff. His midrange was money in the 1st half last night but he hardly looked for his shot.
Yeah, this is why I want another ballhandler like Ball, a stretch 4 who holds onto the ball less. More movement please.
If only we had a stretch four sitting on our bench.
Deng?
Deng is our best PF, both defending or stretching the floor.
Yeah, I was gonna say. (bleep) that's depressing
It is not good, but giving him playing time I believe he still can produce. We were trying to develop Randle last two seasons and I just don't see him as a good investment going forward. I'm not telling he is a bad player, but the concept of rebuild through the draft is finding studs for cheap not keeping any young prospect you have. It was a shame missing his first season and despite the undeniable fact that he is getting better, I don't think he is good enough to make him a keeper.
I was never sold on Dlo as the primary distributor, but the kid can score like few players, I mean, he has a clear role as a scorer that can pass the ball and has a good feel for the game anticipating plays on D so the worst case scenario can be a better version of Lou Willians.
There's nothing different about what he's doing at "SG" rather than "PG". The only difference is the matchup on defense.
I believe the biggest difference is he doesn't feel "obligated" to make a pass first. I'm perfectly fine with him playing a dual role, but it's a little painful watching him bring the ball up the floor every time, especially with any type of pressure defense. That's probably the only difference, he initiates the offense from the half court coming off a screen usually vs walking it up and sometimes making the obligatory pass first. _________________ "It's just a job. Yup, look, when he brings the ball up, he passes it up and usually does not see it anymore, clarkson shot attemps must've been slightly down since the shift to point guard one would think. He's just better when he's looking to be agressive to score, in opposition of the extremely slow labored style he has while trying to set up others.
It's night and day. Just compare his body language even last game and the levels of agression to when he was trying to orchestrate everything, he looks way freer this way to me, more comfortable with his role. As said, maybe cause he doesnt feel the need to create for others, i dont think him and Luke were ever on the same page regarding that part of his game.
I just think that maybe the coaching staff is less of a pain to him when he plays the two, and maybe he isnt as hard on himself cause he doesnt feel that he HAS TO set up others and stuff, less responsability, maybe. Dont know. Or maybe im wrong and it's kind of a placebo effect. Guess we'll see the next couple of games

Anyone see Markelle Fultz draft express videos? Dude is a D'angelo clone.
Weakness

Better athlete.
Better athlete, finisher, offensive instincts / shiftiness, half court game.
DLo has much better vision, feel for cutters/shooters, better bball IQ, quicker shot, better midrange.
I could see these 2 be able to flourish w/ both getting 5-7apg. DLo will be primary playmaker.
ball would be a better fit with dlo, fulltz game is very similar to dlo's, although i dont think that has to be taken in account to be honest. You draft the dude you like better and then make trades/moves accordingly.
I think i would prefer ball, but we would have to change the style of play to a more uptempo game, running up and down, to really take advantage of his skill set. It might be worth it cause he just changed the culture at ucla

Oh dont mistake what I said to be an endorsement for Fultz over Ball. I was just stating if we were to get Fultz how he'd fit in.
I strongly prefer Ball over Fultz. Even taking off my Bruin glasses, I think Ball has tremendous feel for the game and would be the best fit next to DLo. His shot worries me a bit but I think the 2 would be a great fit.

I really like Ball, I love the way he plays the game, but tanking is not about fit, is about the BTA. You pick the most talented player you can find and if the pieces didn't work together you keep the best players moving some parts. If Fultz is available I'd choose him, if you fill Fultz and Dlo can't play together you move one latter.

I think there's a good chance that Fultz is seen as having the better career statistically and Ball has the more valuable one related to winning. _________________ “We must always take sides. That's interesting. Do you feel that Fultz can't elevate the level of play of others?
I don't know, I just know that Ball already does in a unique and solid way. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel
