Have you seen him play this series? I don't know if I ever saw Dlo take over a game like Powell did. But to be fair Powell has only done this now. Otherwise he's just been OK.

But anyways we don't have a chance at getting him. They would reject a Dlo for Powell deal. But maybe Dlo can grow into that kind of player.

Jesus, he had one good game dude.... He averages 8/2/1 and plays 18 minutes per game. Trolling. Again.

But if you double the minutes he's getting, he produces 16/4/2!

In the regular season he's obviously nothing to get excited about but watching him now it's pretty impressive

I hope one day we can see something similar for Dlo in the playoffs

If you think Powell has more trade value then Dlo then... yikes

Yes, I just wish he could gallantly lead his team to the playoffs just like Norman Powell has, and then put up an AMAZING 13/2/2 once he gets there!

A man can dream right?!?!?!

Hey guys, in fairness Norm is shooting 89% from 3 this post-season

Now if only that scrub DLO could do that over the course of a season

Well. When you troll at least it's transparent.

If you double that norm is shooting 168% from 3. Take that.

it's still okay for centers that don't shoot threes. And in certain arguments where using TS% rather than fg% would weaken your arguments on message boards.

The only time* FG% is remotely valuable is when we're talking about end-of-game scenario where the expected value of 3 pointers is somewhat offset by the higher variance.. This is obviously particularly true when you're down 1 and looking to win the game, but even down 1 with 20 seconds left, there's an argument that a 45% chance at making a 2 is better than a 32% chance of making a 3, despite what TS% has to say about it.

edit(*): The only time that I can think of. I'm actually curious if there's any other edge case where FG% > TS%
yeah in terms of judging the scoring efficiency of a player, fg% is never better than TS%. I'm just saying fg% is usually pretty accurate in assessing the efficiency of Centers that don't shoot threes, since their TS% and fg% are usually pretty close. But I agree that TS% is the gold standard in all cases.

One potential caveat is in young players, though. Zubac for example. We can expect his FT% to rise a good bit in time, so it might be useful to look at his 2pt%/fg% to judge his scoring skill and make future projections. His fg% of 53% looks better than his TS% of 54.7. His 62% free throw shooting drags down the efficiency, but I think it's fair to expect him to become a much better free throw shooter. Then again, you good look at it as "okay, he's 54.7 TS% now, we can expect that to go up."

Pretty much, I imagine there are some instances where it's good to break up the different scoring efficiencies and look at them separately. The end-game example you listed above is a good example. But I agree that when using one stat to judge scoring efficiency, the gold standard is always TS%.

Yeah, this is pretty fair. TS% is, like you said, the golden standard for jduging efficiency (again, except for end-of-game situations when you might want lower variance shots). But in the case of your Zubac example, I agree it might be better to use FG% than TS% if you're convinced his FT% will rise.

I casually read these threads but took a total double taker here. Are we taking about UCLAs own Norman Powell? 4 year senior? Played with Korey Alford and the Wear brothers? He's better than DLo now? Man I really need to move back to the states I'm missing everything!

Is Kyle Anderson playing like Magic Johnson? Just checking I am out of touch!!
