“I think that D’Angelo, he has it, it’s just got to come out of him,” Johnson said. “He could be really special if he pushes himself, especially in this offseason. Because he can score that ball. We want him to be more of a leader now.” – via USA Today Sports
In the last 25 years, the NBA champ was lead by their PG 3 times. Once each by Billups, Curry and Wade.
Not a recipe for success.
You still need a great PG leader though, it def doesn't hurt. ie Tony Parker, Rondo, Jason Kidd + the guys you mentioned
Dont forget DFish, Mario Chalmers, Ron Harper, BJ Armstrong and Kenny "the Crap" Smith.
Didn't the warriors win a championship recently behind their point guard? _________________ “This goes far beyond paychecks”
If we draft Ball, it would be such a monumental mistake to assume that DLO is expendable. Hearing multiple takes on Lonzo (GT's podcast, Cole Zwicker, Mark Whittington, Sam Vecencie, etc.), I'm beginning to be convinced that he will be playing a lot of "off guard" in the half court as I don't think he has the tools to run a team in that setting due to a few missing items in his game.
I think D'Lonzo together would be very nice together. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

I tend to agree with this. But offensively Ball gives them a guard who can push the ball, which Russell does not do well. Russell can run the pick and roll in the half court where Ball's shooting will help space the floor. I think Ball's ability to push the ball also fits very well with Clarkson, Randle, Nance, Ingram, and Nwaba. The only real concern is defense with two big guards.

Aside from maybe Beverly and Smart, there is a paucity of effective point of attack defenders. Length allows guys like DLO (has a 6'10 wingspan!) and Lonzo to hopefully be smart defenders who use their wingspans to compensate, i.e. Livingston today.
I like the full court/half court lead guard dynamics. I think DLO in half court is more effective and Lonzo in transition. I think having 2 guys who have the ability to move the ball and shoot 3s will be a good thing to have at our guard spots. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

D'Lonzelo ?
Lonzangelo
I will go half on the trademark with ya if we draft him
The quote below makes me real anxious (if we take him) to see how Russell and Ball work together. I'd think, at least on the offensive end, it would be, well, magical.
-"Russell also possesses incredible vision on-the-court and while he may make mistakes more frequently than you’d like, his ability to find teammates, generate offense out of nothing, and create his own shot with sneaky athleticism is excessively understated. You won’t find many players at his size that have the combination of vision, court awareness and general presence to demand the ball after losing it or having teammates miss easy assists, like he does"-

Yeah, usually you want to get there a game before the Lakers at least to get decent seats.
Absolutely. Fills up very fast as the previous game hits the halfway point and you don't want to get caught up in the uppermost tier as the lines of Thomas & Mack are obstructed by these annoying metal gates. _________________ We back.
