Rust in his veins!

From what I heard though, he played his best game last night. Only tuned in during the middle of the 4th quarter, but it seems like Atkinson's bringing him slowly and it's a sign of maturity that DLo's not trying to force anything.

Yep. And I'd guess that after over two months of watching them play good team ball, he wants to try to integrate himself into what they're doing rather than force the issue. That said, I can't wait to watch smooth, swaggy D'Lo again once he gets his rhythm and timing back. lol

Yeah, before his injury, he sort of had to dominate the ball and be the guy when Lin got injured. I'm excited to see Dinwiddie and Russell play next to each other - both big guards who can provide a combination of shooting, play making, and ball handling. LeVert is another player who I've bought into after watching a few games this season, even though he's not the best shooter. I doubt LeVert plays with them in the starting lineup though because Carroll and RHJ have been good for Brooklyn and LeVert has good synergy with Allen off the bench (another player who I easily became impressed with).

Yup. My post of yesterday seemed kinda negative b/c he was playing pretty replacement level, but just making the simple plays/ right reads goes a long way when you have great court vision and a sweet stroke. It's probably best for him that he doesn't try to make fancy passes, in all honesty. That's part of his game he should clean up. Lots of high risk/ meh reward passes he makes.

Apparently he went on a flurry for 12 points in the 3rd quarter to bring the Nets within striking distance. Finished with 7 turnovers, which is obviously a lot, but hopefully he's shaking off the rust a bit.

Hey never said it was a good game Hopefully this gives him more rhythm as a scorer and gets a better feel of when to be a scorer/decision maker. Curious how he got those turnovers (whether by loose handle or meh passes)

Turnovers are something I'm losing faith that he'll clean up on.
Low key starting to feel better about trading him, don't tell anyone.

Maybe best to step away until March and see what he's doing then.

You think so? Most dudes don't really lower their turnover rates

True. I did say "starting to" -- he'll put up 30 & 8 in a game and I'll be back to... damn, what could've been. lol

So from what I saw two of his turnovers shouldn't have been credited to him. One was a great pass to Levert, but it slipped out of his hands, and another was an amazing pass to Harris and it was bobbled. The pass to Harris was one of those wow D'angelo is gifted passes.

One turnover was him falling out of bounds and he threw it away. Not sure if he got fouled by Delly here, or if it was just Delly being Delly.

The rest of the turnovers were really stupid/bad. Those turnovers where it's like wow D'angelo is an idiot passes . He had this terrible bounce pass, where I think he was trying to throw it between someone's legs. That was the only explanation. However, you can really see he's rusty and he's just trying to get his rhythm back.

He single-handedly brought them back in the third. However, the coach sat him down and they lost the momentum they had. The Nets really take their minutes restriction guidelines seriously.

All in all, I think he's seriously on the best team possible for his future success. That organization seems to really know how to develop players. It's all on him now.

I think he will, not like super duper significantly because he gon take them risks and you need somebody willing to take them

but the whole over penetration and try to bounce pass it between two bigs legs thing he be doing, I think he gone figure out not to do that at some point and thats gone be like 1.8 less tos right there

He's played in 16 games this season (small sample size), 4 of which were coming off the bench (2 wins and 2 losses), which affects his averages.

Didn't watch the game. Saw some comments saying Kenny took him out when he was cooking and had reduced the gap to single digits.

@APOOCH

Quote:
D'Angelo Russell scores 8 straight points and brings the Nets within single digits.

Quote:

End of 3rd: Bucks 81, Nets 72

The Nets outscored the Bucks 37-23 in the quarter. They trailed 75-58 when D'Angelo Russell checked in - finished on a 14-8 run with 10 of the 14 coming from Russell.

Quote:

D'Angelo Russell 1st 3 games since returning: 11 points
D'Angelo Russell tonight: 14 points in 17 minutes

Quote:
Look, I get that he's on a minutes restriction and what not, but DLo was cooking. Hard to watch players cook then get taken out.

... 'Tis the system, though.
