This helps make him a matchup nightmare. He'll post PGs, and as his body develops, SGs won't be able to stay with his herky jerky moves off the dribble. I think even despite BScott he's on course to having added a lot to his game this year. |
Byron Scott is like the 30 pound vest you put on when you do wind sprints on a sand dune.
Once that Scott vest is taken off, he'll start flying. |
You have the best Byron Scott metaphors. I look forward to them every
day. |
The disdain and contempt for the man as a head coach is real. |
Definitely with ya there. My fantasies of how this team could play with a modern coach next season border on eroticism at this point. lol |

My wife once drove a car for 15 miles with the Parking Brake on. I said, "didn't you notice the car dragging and such?" She was oblivious to it.
Suffice it to say I was frustrated and angry.

I like it. Weight vest is the new parking brake. In baseball terms, B Scott is the donut. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

And imagine if there was actual player movement when DLo's in the post instead of everyone standing around watching. |

I imagine that all the time. Imagine that the entire team was coached to understand that perpetual movement, coupled with sharp, precise screens, mixed with each player working intuitively together because of the maturation process like we see happening with Randle before our very eyes.
Yep. I can imagine it. |

With more strengthening, could you guys see D'Angelo get more lift on his jumpshot/layups? I don't care much if he gets a highlight reel play because of his explosiveness, I just care about him improving his strength. |

Bad shooting night but played well in the 2ND half and down the stretch. His play on the defensive end was good last night. _________________ Music is my medicine |

Oh yeah. From just looking at him, he has a teenager's body. Oh wait, he's a teenager still. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

DEFENSE!
Russell is a WAAAAAY better defender than I thought he would be considering his lack of elite speed and hops.
I thought he would be a great shooter and passer, never did I think that he would also be a good defender.
Very encouraging for only being 19! He will be a beast after a few years of NBA weight training and nutrition. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

If he stays healthy, his minimum will be a great player. His max will be of course star/superstar and I believe he can get there if he stays hungry! |

Quote: | Bryant slapped Russell's hand and moved on to join the rest of the team on the court. Russell just stood there after his hand got slapped—and wore an exaggerated, sarcastic grin as he held his aloft, right palm spread open, as if he couldn't believe his hand had been touched by the great one.
Russell carried that prized hand aloft all the way out to the huddle to share the fun. |
This dude is hilarious man

He definitely looks like newborn Bambi out there some times. Just wait till he gets a little muscle on those legs. |

I could see how DLO wowed teams with his personality (i.e. Byron calling him cocky) during interviews. KAT seemed effervescent too and Krispy in his own ways.
Oak, well, sounded rather boring and dull. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Quote: | To Bryant, it wasn't just a humbling old-man moment. It was the basketball gods poking him for what he'd recently boasted to Randle and other teammates: that he had been posterized only once—by defensive specialist Adonal Foyle "a long, long time ago," and never since.
Lo and behold, here was comeuppance for his braggadocio. (And it's also worth noting that Anderson's dunk happened shortly after Russell had the backbone to chastise Bryant for not stepping into the lane with proper help defense on a previous play.) |
Impressive that he let Kobe know that he wasn't helping on defense correctly |

Russell having the stones to call out Kobe's defense. Wow.
Quote: | The real reason Bryant was so amused by that dagger shot was he needed it to bounce back after just getting dunked on by New Orleans' Ryan Anderson (And it's also worth noting that Anderson's dunk happened shortly after Russell had the backbone to chastise Bryant for not stepping into the lane with proper help defense on a previous play). |
