The work ethic stuff is still hilarious to me. 20 year old, 6'5" guys with average athleticism and poor work ethics are on the bench at IUPUI right now. I can pretty much guarantee that his work ethic will suddenly be very acceptable next year under Luke.
When smart kids are faced with dumb people in positions of authority over them they tend to shut down and mail it in. Just subtle sabotage.
And yes, lacking overwhelming elite athleticism, there is no way that he even managed to be a #2 pick with no work ethic (and no way that they would have risked the draft pick on him if they suspected that). He necessarily needs to work harder than other guys....
Doesn't Russell have a 39 inch vertical? That would make him slightly more athletic than DeRozan, supposedly, though the eye test says otherwise.
DLo doesn't have a 30 inch vertical , that unofficial vert test was ridiculous
What does it look like he actually has? _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

Stay classy Byron.
It was pretty classy. Said he thinks he is going to be a good player. Just has to keep working.
It saw it as a backhanded compliment. It's perfectly in line with all the other verbiage he's said on Russell.
And others have said as well.
You mean Byron's camp?
No. Emplay and a couple of posters here who would have access to that information. DLO was putting in time but doing so inefficiently. The organization had to work on him with prioritizing what was important to work on. Hardly unexpected for a rookie, and definitely nothing to be concerned about. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

Except Emplay's statement didn't imply any of that. He made a very broad claim which ended up being disproved by Kobe and company.

No he didn't, Emplay's comment was the same was what I posted and was disproven by no one. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

Start at the 0:17 mark. This is straight from Kobe's mouth:
"Just continuing to work. That's never a problem for him. He just left the floor shooting. He's been out shooting for another 45 minutes after practice... if he continues to stay that course he'll be just fine"
That entirely negates what emplay said about him not staying after practice.

That isn't what Emplay posted (from what I remember), it was that the organization had issues with DLO's work ethic. And they proceeded to address that and it was no longer an issue. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

Why are we still squabbling about this? Can't we move on? Clearly Coach Luke has some big plans with DLO. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

This is what Pincus said:
Saying Scott is a bad coach because he's not giving Russell end-of-game minutes and not letting him develop involves a serious lack of information as to what's the motivation Scott has for not playing Russell. Notably - Russell has not put in the work in practice, after practice, before practice, in game, etc. to earn Scott's good graces.

Yes, and once the organization worked with DLO to concentrate his work on what he needed to, it was no longer an issue. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

That is what Emplay said, you are just doing a poor job of interpreting it. What I posted was exactly what Eric said. Along with others. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

Wouldn't be surprised if they were working for Jeanie Buss.

Does anyone think Russell will ever become a pass-first player? Or even able to become one?
I think he can, but I don't think he should. He's gifted as both a passer and a scorer and he has high BBIQ. I think he should just focus on making the right read, whether it's a pass or a bucket.

Well when posters here make up their own scenarios, who cares about credibility? Especially with a situation that was mentioned by others. But Eric has sources in the Laker FO (and no, it isn't Jeanie) and you have squat, so stop crying about credibility. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
