Once he finds that balance and consistency, he's going to be hovering around 26ppg. | I think some of it is due to being fatigued. |

I mean, once he finds the balance between getting his own and creating shots for others, he's going to be a monster. No reason he couldn't average 25/5/5 in his prime. _________________

Once he builds his body up, especially his legs, he'll be a bit more consistent and stop front rimming a lot of his shots. That said, he was somewhat of a streaky scorer in college too. _________________ "It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up."-The Greatest |

I think that portends well for a kid who's still developing physically. |

He'll likely always be streaky to some extent. That's true of a lot of shooters. But if his version of "hot" is the 12 points in 5-6 minutes stuff he tends to do at the age of 20, he stands a good chance of being a "holy (bleep), you have to turn on the Laker game to see what D'Angelo Russell is doing!" type of guy by the time he's 25. |

I think minutes also have something to do with it. most Of the top scorers play around 35 minutes per game. Russell Played 28 last season and 29 in this past game. I think his consistency and scoring will go up as his minutes go up. |

The pace of the game was a bit much last night. You could see he was sucking wind.
It'll be interesting to see the Utah game. They play at one of the slowest paces in the league and they're a defensive handful. Gonna be quite the challenge to see if he can get himself and the team going tomorrow. |

All this talk about streaky scoring makes me miss Kobe who can get hot for months. |

Although different players physically and stylistically, D-Lo reminds me of NVE - the swagger, clutch shooting, the ability to put the team on his shoulders. He's not Kobe, but he's going to be a terrific player in his own right. |

I think a lot of it is he doesn't have that attack-the-basket style game to him. When you have that, you can go to it when your shot is off or you're not feeling it. With guys like Curry and DLo, they are more reliant on their jumper for scoring and when they're on, they're unstoppable. |

Wow am I glad to wake up and find that Russell thread was locked. Now I can only hope morbid curiosity doesn't get me reading the entire thread. |

Yeah. At one of the timeouts he was really sucking wind out there. Have to think he'll find a sweet spot in minutes, and consistency. |

Just don't celebrate and gesture too much or flex your muscles and nod your head knowing it was locked and you'll be OK. |

The "racist" turn was ... interesting. I know people who don't like DLo's swag and they aren't coming from a race-based perspective.
But those people I know who feel that way are smart enough to not try and convince Lakers fans that DLo's confidence is a bad thing.

If that was the first time something like that happened, I'd agree
but it has been a pattern of statements over time about dlo and other things that had that thread lookin funny in the light |

Ya, he's also the one that made some questionable remarks when profiling the way DLo's dad dressed during the 1st Summer League game... |

George Hill, Exum, Rodney Hood, Joe Johnson
Should be interesting to see how DLo handles tonights matchups! |

Hill and Exum will be tougher matchups offensively for DLo. They aren't the offensive players that Gordon was but defensively they're both good players. |

For sure. Both Hill/Exum are good defenders.
