I'm still going to root for DLo and he was my favorite Laker but I have to be honest about him, I think I definitely was overrating him quite a bit. Many outlets portray the Lakers as the clear winners of this trade.

We should root for DLO to succeed AND for the Lakers to get their max player next year.

For those who hated him from the get go, obviously won't change their minds. But the last thing I want to see is DLO succeed and the Lakers fail, or worse yet, both DLO and the Lakers fail. No schadeunfreude for me here.

I feel like a Bernie Bro last year. I kind of want to see it burn to effect the end of Buss family ownership. It's time to move on, but I have a feeling outside of occasional blips of success on the backs of aging, overpaid stars, the Lakers will be continuing down a multi-decade path of mismanagement that began 4-5 years ago.

We'll see how it goes.

Very interested to see how this one's perceived in 3 years.

I can tell you one thing, I am actually going to use my league pass to watch more than one team next year.

Have to agree. I'm not emotionally invested in DLo. But, I feel bad for all of his fans. By the time he's 25 he could be developed into a top tier guard or close to it.

I don't think much of anybody plugged in to where the game is today would think we won the battle. The only question that remains is whether we win the war. Still more decisions to be made before that is known and it's harder to evaluate how this move weights in that broader objective. We have less talent and one less potential star on the roster. We also have more flexibility and a lot of smoke out there.

I just don't see the likes of Morey or Ainge or Buford making this move. You take the time necessary to find another way to have the flexibility you need.

I think there's a decent chance DLO becomes an all star AND the Lakers use that cap space to get a star too. That would be my optimal outcome.

I think we should move/lock this too.

As Lakers fans, we should be rooting for him to prosper so Boston's Net pick is diluted.

Surely, we can agree to that?

Lebron, PG and Boogie all in P+G at just under max deals and DLo as an AS sounds good to me.

Agree with you guys that we won't know about this trade for a few years, but a win-win is very possible. I don't think DLo was ever going to reach his potential here. With a wake up call, a fresh start and a great situation (coach, roster, less pressure), he's ideally positioned to reach his potential. It's al up to him.

Yeah but if we suck then Boston gets our pick if its 2-5 and Philly gets it if it's 1st.... so X_X

I'm glad he's gone, he'll never be a consistent star. He might have a good year or two, but he doesn't have what it takes. What is unfortunate is that we were able to get so little for him because of the utterly preventable mistake in signing Mosgov. They should have drafted Porky.
