I have such mixed feeling about this because I believe we can beat Denver but the consequence would be being stuck with Ham and Jeanie giving LBJ a huge extension even though he's clearly getting old
I can't help but root for the Lakers to win, but a long run would have also have negative consequences in a few years. |

Lebron is getting an extension offer regardless of how deep we go. The bigger concern is trying to move all our young assets and future assets to "give Lebron a chance" in a chase for that mythical 3rd "superstar".
I voted Finals. My heart believes it even if my head says 1st round out. _________________ KOBE |

What would be consistent and on brand with these Lakers this year, is to actually beat the Denver Nuggets, and put Laker Nation on an emotional high... only to lose to the Suns or Wolves in the 2nd round. That's my gut instinct. |

The only real reason to say LBJ is clearly getting old is because we count the revolutions of the earth around the sun so that we know how many years have passed since he started playing. His play hasn’t indicated what we expect it to show. He’s averaging what he has always averaged throughout his career. Sure, there are some signs…like missing games…but overall it seems like people say it because we would expect it to normally be happening but the results don’t support what is being said about that he is getting old.
Oh, back on topic lol! I feel the same way about the mixed feelings. I want the Lakers to win a ship, but if they aren’t then I don’t care how far they get. I would rather miss the playoffs to expose the deficiencies than to get to the WCF and then lose which could mistakinly keep things from changing, and the change needed? Well that’s better coaching and better GMing. _________________ “When it looks as if it is a realistic possibility, I want to focus on winning a ship like it’s a goal that can’t be denied. Then Boston wins the championship because the Lakers eliminated their best competition. |

Had that same nightmare last week. I would be ok riding and dying with these Lakers if Rob had added a big body back up C. I didn’t like it but could Even accept switching out Schro for Vincent with alternate logic as well as signing Prince to a 1 year deal with a resource that can only be used every 2 years. But There’s no excuse for not getting a big body back up C tho, either off season or at the deadline.
Sure hope I’m wrong on at least one of the nightmare elements tho, so that either the Lakers win a ship or the Keltics don’t. _________________ “When it looks as if it is a realistic possibility, I want to focus on winning a ship like it’s a goal that can’t be denied. I hope I'm wrong, but this is just a tough bracket to be in. Phoenix is an offensive juggernaut and starting to feel their groove. They also have enough inside in Nurkic to bother AD, and even take away his boards. The Wolves are flat out bigger that can actually stretch in Towns and Reid. |

We're beating Denver in 7 and winning the championship against Boston. |

I will say this. We get by Denver and they are healthy the whole series and we aren't just making it to the finals. We are winning the whole thing. |

Very astute Rafters! I like your way of thinking. Thank you for pointing this out |

Given how we are sometimes I wouldn't be surprised if we took our foot off the gas if we beat Denver and almost lose or lose in round 2.
But yeah if we do beat Denver we are immediate favorites for the chip given how well we've played the Celtics and other west teams. |

lol...81% of LG voted to face the Nuggets in the first round now 61% thinks we wouldn't beat them. LG logic.
So you guys just want the Lakers to face the Nuggets in the first round and get eliminated? Got it! _________________ LeGoat! LeMazing! LeGend! |
