Problem with Nance is that he's injury prone. I don't know if it's his style, his body, or bad luck, but it seems like he's missed alot of games. |

Last night would be a perfect example of why a coach would prefer him over Randle. I don't know how Luke maintains his composure watching so many mistakes, even if he has the potential to do more than Larry. |

Is it like comparing JR Smith to Derek Fisher? |

Not a bad comparison (although JR's ability to shoot in today's league would probably tip the scales). After the game you could tell Luke was totally disgusted with Randle. He never cited by him name, but mentioned players making stupid mistakes "passing between their legs". He even implied that Lonzo's pass ahead on the break to Randle that led to a TO was catchable . |

Luke was also likely pissed about Kuzma’s bad passes to no one. We aren’t good enough to survive bone headed plays like we saw from JR and Kuz. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I wish I had video of the pass ahead. Definitely could have been thrown a little shorter by Zo, but I could have sworn Julius slowed down. But that's just from memory and they never went to replay so I could be wrong.
But would love to see the vid if anyone has it. |

Julius did slow down to stay inbounds and have a shot at the basket. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Lol that was Luke looking for something to blame the loss on but those TO’s boneheaded as they were, weren’t the reason we lost last night. Kuz and Randle were +16(he ended +12 but he was +16 before being inserted with 40 secs remaining) and +12 respectively despite the To’s which means the two and the squad they were on more than made up for those errors. |

Question for you all (especially my fellow Process trusters): What do you think is the best way to teach younger kids that sometimes a short-term result doesn’t reflect the quality of the process?
I have conversations like this a lot:
Me: “We don’t trap off of misses. We sprint back and match up.”
Player: “But it works. I just got a steal off of it.”
Me: “That’s not a great shot.”
Player: “But I made it.”
Kids don’t understand the flaws in that mindset. Any ideas? |

It almost looks to me like a lob attempt. |

I thought it was just a bad pass when I saw it live but after a few replays I think it was catchable. Lonzo could have made a slightly better pass but Jules probably should have caught that |

I agree, which is a rarity for Lonzo. He’s usually money on those hit ahead passes, it just wasn’t his night.
I think Nance should take a page out of Luke’s books and volunteer to come off the bench for Kuzma, like Luke did when Phil didn’t have enough balls to start the better player in Ariza back in 08-09 _________________ My Dream Starting 5 next Season

The pass was not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but JR is more at fault. He wanted to make it a highlight play. He should have grabbed it with 2 hands, made a dribble under the basket and scored. Worse case, he should have at least had enough control to potentially pass it to one of our guys cutting to the basket. |

Great post! Also, how many things does he do that does not show up in the stats. Help D, loose balls, keeping balls in play, solid picks, moving without the ball, SINCERELY cheering and rooting for team mates, etc. The kid is the PERFECT role player on for a championship team. It surprises me that he is not appreciated by some. |

Thanks!
Yea, that one is on Zo. Randle kept his stride.
Catchable? Perhaps if he had to extend a bit more or jump.
But it's on the passer to make it as easy as possible for the recipient. |

Larry is a good energy guy off the bench not a starter. The only thing I can think of is they are trying to showcase him for a possible trade. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

Not sure why you would throw him back in the starting lineup after a month off. Is he Kobe Bryant? |

Absolute liability on offense. Not a better defender than Randle. It really shouldn't be a hard choice. |
