NBA Dunk contest should include Lakers forward Larry Nance Jr.
Quote: | It’s time for one of the young Lakers to make a name for himself in the NBA Dunk Contest this year.
Lakers forward Larry Nance Jr. can hit a dunk starting at the charity stripe, but those dunks aren’t what got most people’s attention. Nance has made his two submissions for dunk of the year already and it’s only January. | 4000

IMO he's probably being packaged for a trade. May not see him suit up as a laker again |
Give it a rest. We already have one 2.0. |
Still, if he comes back and plays well for the rest of the season I would consider what you could get in return. I like Larry and what he brings, but I have the feeling that we won't see a 70-game season from him. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

The Lakers really miss Nances energy, also his help defense, I won't be surprised if Nances return gives the team a big lift. |

As much as Deng helps with the tank, Larry is the anti tank. Hopefully, he comes back quick and gets this team going. |

Nance, Jr. (bone bruise) progressed from shooting drills to 1-on-1. Needs to be upgraded to 2 on 2, eventually 5 on 5 before being cleared. |

It's looking like that game against Dallas or Portland is looking realistic as long as he's getting the 2-on-2's under his belt and 5 on 5 the following week which will open the door for a mid Janaury return. |

Hello!
Pelton has Nance Jr listed EIGHTH on his sophomores big board. Russell is 5th. Here's a garbage link to a forum that posted the insider article LINK _________________ Austin Reaves

I love what Nance brings to the table, I really miss him.
Funny thing is how I got thrashed last season after telling an unbiased fan would make a strong case to put Jokic and Turner ahead of Russell and at this early point of their respective careers it seems like a consensus now among non homers. |

At this point in time I gotta agree with those rankings too. It's all subject to change if Russell makes a bigger leap down the road, but they've been more impressive to date. I think Jokic is a top 3 talent from last draft. Russell has a lot of room to grow, it's on him to get there. _________________ Austin Reaves

Sure, I think a big questions is if you're rating based on what they're doing now vs what you think they'll become.
Also, maybe chill with the bolded. _________________ LeBron, AD, & _________. Stay tuned.

I hope he doesn't rush it, even though I miss his energy and team play on the court. _________________ LeBron, AD, & _________. Stay tuned.

Last season he was still recovering from the ACL surgery. This year he has been healthy aside from the contact injury caused bone bruise. That injury could have happened to anyone.
So I am cautiously optimistic that he is not injury prone. And boy do we miss him on defense. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

We absolutely miss him on defense. NBA Math just released another TPA breakdown for the Lakers this morning, showing Nance as the most impactful on defense. I don't know how to explain this as some of our more #nuancedobservers can but my tiny basketball brain imagines it as Offensive Points Added vs Defensive Points Saved. Actually here's a good explanation
TPA Breakdown
Brandon has come a looooong way on this graph too _________________ Austin Reaves

After reading Fishdoc's treatise on D, I can absolutely see why Jr. has such a big impact. Its all about communicating and knowing where to be on the floor. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

That is one of the advantages of 4 years in college, you actually learn to play the game. It is easy to see why the league would prefer to make that a rule if they could get away with it _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |
