Kind of an interesting thought I saw somewhere else, is it possible the Lakers and Nance came to a pre-draft agreement similar to what Josh Huestis and the Thunder did last year? By all accounts, Nance was a late 2nd round pick even possible undrafted but he went late 1st, even with more highly touted draft prospects available on the board. It's no secret that the Lakers are hoarding cap space, so could the Lakers have come with a pre-draft agreement?
I still think it's unlikely, but it's an interesting though nonetheless.
Mitch said today at the beginning of their press conference that he "obviously expects all 3 to be on the roster"
1st time poster... became a laker fan last thurday. My brother, an avid laker fan, and I have watched nance for the last four years. I can now say... Im a Los Angeles Laker Fan.
anyway; wanted to post some videos you fellow fans might enjoy. before I do, some things you should know and keep in mind about larry! Help defense, free throw shooting, and effort. you will absolutely love nance jr. I feel like im giving up my child in adoption to the laker community.
here you go. many of you have watched, but not all of you, so enjoy.
larry's defense, blocking, effort, taking charges, elevation, ability to win tip offs, free throw shooting, leadership, character, and winning personality will be a laker fan favorite for years to come.

Incorrect....two NBA writers who had been talking to teams about Nance had him possibly going in the FIRST round.
I continue to find it interesting that the common thread of scouts and fans that have watched Nance play continues to be the same.
Hard working smart player that "fans will love". Or that he does all the little things that makes him a "fan favorite".
Going to be interesting to see just how big a role he can earn. If he lives up the hype he could be a nice addition from the bench for 10-15mpg. Especially if the second unit can play tough defense and run. Young man looks to be a dynamic finisher.
Potential second unit???
Upshaw, Nance, A.Brown, Young and Clarkson
Larry Nance seem like a nice kid with good basketball sense. However he will be a decent bench player at best. Brings energy, plays some defense and give someone else a rest.

Another draft. Another power forward.
2013- Ryan Kelly
2014- Julius Randle
2015- Larry Nance Jr.
Its funny, cause Aldridge wants to play the 4. So does Love. Same goes for Greg Monroe.
I think I can guess our FO's favorite position.
Those were the perceived BPAs at the draft position.
That's the Sam Hinkie defense!
He does have a huge collection of talent. He's also not moving them to improve the team. That's the idea of drafting the BPAs. _________________ Resident Car Nut.
He doesnt owe the fans jack squat. He owes Kobe and his wife for bringing that (bleep) up to the main stream again. He made a mistake, it is what it is, Kobe forgave him, that should be enough. Let's get back to winning Lakers basketball, all this losing the last 2 years has been eating my insides.
He didn't do anything to bring that to the mainstream though. That tweet was like 3 years old lol. Whoever took the time to dig that tweet up should be more under fire.
I actually took it as that typical internet dry humor / sarcasm. bad joke.. but seemed like a joke nonetheless.
Funny how over the top he is now with praising Kobe Bryant though
truth be told, all this kid has to do is go out there and play hard.
Laker fans reciprocate love to players who play with their hearts in their hand.
This kid made a very strong **second impression. Seems like a really smart, high character player. It's amazing the difference in maturity levels between a 4 year senior and these 19 year olds..
Nance is a man, on and off the court. Russell is still a kid, albeit he will mature rather quickly.
Either way, it was a terrible tweet, and I'm not sure if Kobe will ever fully embrace the kid after he said something like that, but in my eyes, I like him. Really strong character/personality. Will be a fan favorite so long as he is productive. Laker fans loved Mark Madsen too.

Then again, Nick Young is 30 and he's way less mature than any of these guys. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

When making my draft board of the top 50 guys, I came across Nance pretty late in the process and wanted to put him higher, but was second guessing myself. Will trust my opinion more next year - I think Nance is going to be a very valuable role player.

None of them have proven themselves yet. Acquire the best talent available, let them compete for a place, and then decide later. Our team is too bad to be concerned with positions at the moment.
