To me he's a more athletic mark madsen with Blake Griffin-like athleticism and a better jump shot.
That's a good thing. Having a hustle guy with those credentials and an unlimited hustle along with his athleticism is a beautiful beautiful thing.
If Blake Griffin had Mark Madsen's heart and hustle he'd have lead the Clippers to a championship. |

I saw this on another board:
Quote: | Height: Griffin 6′ 10″ Nance 6′ 9″
Weight: Griffin 248 Nance 230
Wingspan: Griffin 6′ 11.25″ Nance 7′ 1.5″
Standing Reach: Griffin 8′ 9″ Nance 9′
No step vertical: Griffin 32″ Nance 29″
Max vertical: Griffin 35.5″ Nance 37.5″ |
If he bulks up a little an develops a post game, why can't he play Blake Griffin style? He already has greater wingspan, greater standing reach, and better max vertical. |

Blake Griffin has really good handles for his size, that's one of the huge differences, i like what Nance Jr as shown though. |

Yeah. Kind of like a Shaq without the size, weight, post game, or bald head with a little Marion and maybe a dash of Kenyon Martin without the lips. |

Would Kirilenko be a good comparison for Nance? |

Nance, like mitch said, is a bit undersized, but makes up for it with his reach and athleticism.
I really can't compare him to anyone, he just kinda reminds me of the longer athletes in the nba. Gobert, Greek freak, davis. He's not on their level but he's got that Uber length combined with athleticism and motor like them. |

I think it's actually possible that Nance will end up being better than D'Angelo or Julius. |

This is the rare Serge Ibaka type power forward. Mitch did a great job picking him at #27, even though he was projected in the mid to late 2nd round. These guys come in handy because you never know when you might end up with a center who can't protect the rim. The Brown types are a dime a dozen. |

There is a Laker historical precedence for that. The Lakers had 3 first round picks in 1977. They took Kenny Carr first #6- a stud from North Carolina St. He bombed. Brad Davis from Maryland #15- he did ok. The last (who turned out to be the best of all) pick in the first round that year?
Norm Nixon #22- Made the All-Star team and a vital contributor to 2 championships...It can happen. Shhhhhh....that's a secret! |

Nance may actually be the best P&R running mate to D'Angelo, more so than Julius at least who plays more of an ISO-post game.
Nance can set a good pick, has the athleticism to run and explode off the floor and even take that 15-foot jumper if his defender commits to D'Angelo. _________________

That's why the staff wants him to take that shot when open and keep working on it. I think the lakers may be moving towards having Randle at the 3. We drafted a senior PF in the first round and then grabbed bass in freeagency making it near impossible for nance to get any playing time the next few years. This has to mean that one of these guys is seen as a SF, right? |

Nance doesn't let Crohn's disease or a torn ACL derail his journey to the Lakers
The Lakers plucked him with 27th pick – his dad went 20th in 1981 – and five days later he stood at a news conference holding his No. 7 jersey.
“I carry that jersey with me wherever I go,” he said. “In the airport, with me here (in Las Vegas). I just need to look at that every now and again. You know what, this is me. I’m a Los Angeles Laker.
“It still hasn’t set in yet.”

Why Randle at the 3? Could it be Nance they are envisioning at SF mpg?
Good size, effort and athleticism but would Nance have the quickness to play SF? He certainly matches up with some of the larger SFs they will face much better then a Kobe, N. Young or A. Brown trio.
I continue to wonder about the SF position. So far, there has been no indication they are even interested in other SFs. Only current rumor I have seen is about a C/PF. Could Nance be playing some of those SF minutes? |

Physically he reminds me of a prime Elton Brand. Undersized but a huge wingspan and good motor. |
