It's to be expected when you're a rookie and you start some games and barely play, if at all, in the ones you where you don't. |

im afraid he's the next on the lakers legacy of shooters who can't actually shoot. The best shooter we had in the last few years was actually Jody freakin' Meeks he's ok but yeah, we need to find better shooters |

Ant needs to mature into his body. Dude rarely uses any strength.
Ironically if any player needed to "man up" or get a "mean streak" on our team it's him lol. I'd like to see him play a little more aggressively to get himself going |

Am I seeing things or is there a slight hitch just as he's about to release on his shooting motion? |

He's still a rookie learning the ropes. We'll see how he does in the remaining games. 2/6 ain't so bad but he can definitely do better. |

He will be fine with consistent playing time. _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Whatever, pow, three. I love the Zen, though." |

His rebounding is underrated. He also runs back in transition and shadows his man well. It's one reason I would give him almost all of Nick Young's minutes. |

made a couple threes at the end of the game, he has been good on defense, let's ride him a little more until the end of the season, i like him to play off clarkson and dlo |

Minutes, reps and confidence. I think he'll be a very good role player for the team once he gets more opportunity. |

Should Brown just be allowed to play 30 min a game as well. In the last 20 games or so, I have seen Nick Young give the Lakers absolutely nothing. He is a chucker of epic proportions now. He does step back multiple dribble combo 3's. Young has completely lots all his credibility he built 2 years ago. Brown looks very hesitant and shaky but I will blame him for 50% and the other 50 goes to Lord Byron and his minutes and role. Brown like I stated In another thread is Danny Green to me. He is sharp. He will figure it out. He needs to attack and slash. Brown can play. He has a nice handle and above average D. There is a place for him but he needs minutes. Maybe with JC out the Lakers can play Brown at the 2 and Metta at the 3. That hurts to type that. Kobe when healthy and Brown at the 2. _________________ You mystified at what exists inside

It'd be nice if we had a real offense so we could make a proper evaluation of Brown as a player.
I get the feeling Brown might end up as a Danny Green; cut by the team that drafted him in the 2nd round and picked up by a more savvy franchise. |

I see Brown as a potential barometer guy for DLO growing into his leadership role. If Brown is playing with confidence and getting the ball in his sweet spots, he's going to help offensively. It will be up to Russell to figure out how to make that happen. PG 101.
Defensively I'd like to see LA play Brown against guards. His agility and length make him interesting there. Also gives you good rebounding by position that way. Just need a non guard facilitator in the game to make that work which LA has. Very Spurs (Green) and Warriors (Klay) -like to put Brown at guard. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night. |

I really don't like Brown at all and think he has absolutely zero future with this team. Just yet another supposed "shooter" that bricks wide open shots like Ryan Kelly.
However, I'm glad that he is getting chances and minutes now, especially at this point in the season. Maybe he can prove me wrong in the next 20 or so games. Until then though, I don't like him at all. I'm just glad he was just a 2nd round pick and not a first rounder like he was expected to be here at some point before the draft. _________________ Darvin Scam: https://media.tenor.com/images/3c15249955860a4b16b59e8ae035fb75/tenor.gif |

His hesitation on wide open shots is what annoys me the most tbh.
When he just shoots it without hesitation it seems to go in more often than not. But when he catches, and hesitates and they close out, or catches and immediately looks to pass it, or catches it, holds it and waits and then tries to shoot... yeah...
That annoys the heck out of me because it makes you question his competitive fire. Byron even challenged him and he came out like that. Had that been Larry or Randle they'd have gone for it. And Brown is asked to do less than both of them. |

Since Clarkson and Lou are out we could see more of Brown's minutes. _________________ I was an atheist, until I knew Kobe.

Kelly was touted as a 'big that could shoot'. Brown is a shooter who can defend. Very different. Brown made 132 of 296 3pt shots as a Jr/SR (45%). Dude just hasn't adjusted to the speed of the game yet. Once he learns a pro offense and stops thinking so much his natural shooting touch will kick in. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night. |

That would be good.
Either that or we call up the other Brown. |

Brown just needs regular minutes... also, all this iso crap is terrible for a player like him. He needs to be a catch and shoot guy. Hopefully this new offense that we run like crap so far helps him lol.
Defense is good.
Solid bench player if he can get consistency on his shot. _________________ "He may say it's not you, it's him.... but it's really you." |

At the very least Kelly when healthy had a high basketball IQ and made the right plays and passes and had a solid pump fake and drive game.
Ryan Kelly actually reminded me a bit of Luke if he was 6'11. Not that athletic but knew the game and the ins and outs to b serviceable and was a solid shooter when he wasn't hurt or coming off injury. |
