unless he can find a way to make the 3 ball consistently, i don't see how he sticks in the league. his defense was solid during the SPL, but not sure it was enough to overshadow his awful offense.

also, he should have given the ball back to ingram for the 3.

I like Brown's defense. His shot will come and go and I'm fine with that. He makes Lou expendable after this season or at the trade deadline.

Different roles.

He had some flashes tonight.
I think he can still turn into a good player, as his defense is usually pretty good.

Let's not forget that he's coming from a season under Byron Scott, who said that he didn't believe in the 3 ball and hardly gave Anthony Brown any chances. This is the first time he's getting any consistent playing time in over a year or so.

Looking forward to see Anthony Brown working with our new coaching staff. He'll probably get a lot better.

I'm happy for him. He finally had a good game and made some shots. Hopefully he keeps working hard and becomes a solid role player for us.

They play the same position. Brown guards the best perimeter player on the 2nd unit and doesn't take shots away. I think Lou will be traded at the deadline. I prefer a 2nd unit of Calderon, Brown, Ingram, Nance, and Zubac.

Yeap, but work on making the extra pass bro!

Hopefully he builds on this. He's gotta swing the ball. Missed Ingram for the potential game winner.

Good fourth quarter for Brown. Was able to knock down some shots, make some plays.

When his shot goes in, it looks great. His step-back 3 in the 4th quarter looked like a Glenn Rice type shot. I hope AB can fix whatever it is that's preventing him from hitting shots consistently.

People are so quick to criticize his missing shots that they can't see the other subtle ways in which he's improved his game. Looks way more comfortable out there making plays with the ball in his hands and off the dribble.

The shot should come with time.

Defensively he might be our best perimeter defender outside of Loul Deng. Just imagine the defensive potential with Deng, Ingram and Brown out there at the same time switching on everything and Zubac/Mozgod manning the paint.

I really have faith in this kid. He can be frustrating to watch at times but if he can get that J to fall at least semi regularly, he's got a place with us.

As Ingram matures as an option on offence, like I've said before, Brown could very well be the starting 2 guard

Ignoring the really dumb last second shot. AB played well this game and finally has made me have some to look forward to with him. Hopefully the coaches continue to give him confidence.

Didn't watch the game but I'm glad to hear that he found a bit of rhythm in his last game. Also, watching the highlights and that last shot, Ingram wasn't that wide open as it's made out to be. Christmas is still trailing him on the play, even if Brown makes the pass, Christmas will be a foot or two away from him by that time.

Agree, different role. If you want defense, you put Brown on the court. If you want scoring, you put Lou. But just because they have different roles, it doesn't mean none of them can be traded. In fact, if Brown can becomes a good 3&D player, he will take over our future starting sg spot.

Brown had his best scoring game in Summer League against Jazz, at least it's an improvement on his other performances in Summer League. Brown said after the game he knows he needs to make shots if he want's to get playing time for the 16/17 season.

There is a bit of time between now and the training camp, Kobe said after his last game if any of the younger players ever want to train with him they just need to go to Orange County maybe Kobe could help Brown.

Love how Brown is realistic about what he needs to do if he wants minutes.

H. Barnes is not a better player than AI but he performed the role required of him within. specific rotations- starting 5, that's why he started.

I really hope JC, comes back a better defender but playing D, even average, isn't easy

Dear God let it end. I'm gonna jump out the window if he takes the place of either August(e) or even Munford.

He won't, with Russell, Calderon and Huertas it would be likely Munford will get a roster spot when the Lakers have already got three PGs and Clarkson/Lou can play that role if needed.

Randle and Nance Jr are the current Lakers PF but Deng played a lot last season at the four, Ingram did as well during his time at Duke and Black has played PF before.

Funny how each has his own perspective. I am not feeling all the love for Auguste that seems to flowing around here.

I see good energy and some flashes (for example the acrobatic over the shoulder reverse layup was impressive) but overall the guy mishandles so many passes and attempted drives. Makes mistakes repeatedly.

Just not seeing the same as you with Auguste. Long term project at best.

With Brown I see an improved role player. He bulked up a bit and it helped him on defense and rebounding. Much better ballhandler this year. Not great but competent. The missing 3 pt shot is frustrating. He has to hit those open shots.

But it is not unheard of for a poor shooter/ good defender to earn mpg. In a limited role he seems capable of becoming a Sefolosha or Roberson type. If he ever recovers his college shooting percentage the Danny Green comparison is solid.

I will be disappointed if Brown does not make the squad and play some mpg this season. Even 10-15 per game in certain situations seems reasonable to me. Maybe more if he can provide a minimal scoring threat and Williams becomes less involved.

Like I said, interesting to see the differences in perspective.

+1 on Auguste. Really wanted him to be more skilled. I think AB will actually be very valuable to the team but not in games. His defense will be very good and help DR, JC, BI develop everyday in practice. Im not sure if there is another free agent out there who can do that.
