Upshaw will make the team. His upside cannot be overlooked. It's too obvious.

A lot of Tariq black fans won't like this but I think upshaw should eat up a lot of the backup center minutes. Black should only Coke in when the kid starts making too many mistakes (and he will). Scott can use black to teach upshaw lessons and keep him focused. |

I'm fine with Black and Upshaw fighting for backup minutes.
As long as Sacre gets cut too. The dream. _________________ Darvin Scam: https://media.tenor.com/images/3c15249955860a4b16b59e8ae035fb75/tenor.gif |

Anyone else surprised with BS telling reporters that Upshaw made a ton of mistakes....nothing about what he did well? I think he had a really good first game and affected the game a lot. |

What I don't like about Upshaw is he doesn't make himself part of the team. He doesn't go shake players when they are shooting freethrows and he doesn't set good screens. I like his potential but I don't like his attitude _________________ My Dream Starting 5 next Season

With Robert Upshaw we essentially have 3 first rounders out of this years draft.
His potential is off the charts. He reminds me of a young Robert Parrish. |

Lol he's literally the best on this team at setting screens 😂
He was slipping a lot today but I'm not sure if it was by design or not |

On the bench he's one of the most encouraging players. he's probably just winded on the court. lol. |

His attitude seems fine to me. I never even noticed your free throws comment...I think he's just terribly focused on his game right now.
He does set screens for other players...a lot. One of the best on the team. |

Yeah I noticed that. But after someone shoots a freethrow, everyone goes to dab the player except for Upshaw, he needs more team spirit in my opinion I saw Lou ignore him a couple of times because of that _________________ My Dream Starting 5 next Season

he sets weak screens, well atleast he doesn't move on this screens so thats good, he needs to get stronger and set better screens. _________________ My Dream Starting 5 next Season

Black is probably a better overall player than Upshaw right now. But Upshaw is an ideal backup for Hibbert.
He does the same things.
Will be interesting to see how the backup center rotation minutes work out. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

Disagree. Upshaw is raw and over rated at this time. |

Exact same things except talk on defense, seal his man on offense, make nice passes from the top of the key, rotate consistently on defense, etc |

Upshaw has potential but there's a steep growth curve. I would like for him to play bigger than he does. He doesn't clog the lane the way a true center would. However he's got some nice skills, let's see how he progresses. |

Nothing wrong with his team spirit. He was focused on his game today...his first game. Now you have Lou ignoring him "because of that"? |

Almost every lottery pick in NBA history has been raw and overrated so it kind of fits perfectly. _________________ You are either in or on your way to the NBA Finals. |

I think he sets excellent screens. He sprints to the screen, gets wide, and uses good angles. What is it about his screens that you think is weak? |

Ouch. Not an Upshaw fan I'm guessing.
Hibbert and Upshaw both patrol the paint and shotblock.
Also they both like getting paint touches in the same places offensively.
Of course Upshaw isn't as well-rounded a Center as Hibbert. He's a rookie. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”
