On behalf of my gay brothers and sisters, that will be all we will be hearing from you on this subject. You are entitled to be a bigot, but this isn't going to be the platform for it.

And I understand your loyalty to your transgender kid mentioned in Caitlyn Jenner thread.

His comment had nothing to do with his background, but rather your attempt to bait others into a bigoted debate. Do not come back to this thread. The only reason you haven't been suspended is because of my assumption that your beliefs are religious based, which I will do my best to respect (regardless of my own beliefs).

British Dictionary definitions for bigot Expand
bigot
/ˈbɪɡət/
noun
1.
a person who is intolerant of any ideas other than his or her own, esp on religion, politics, or race
Derived Forms

I'm not intolerant I just can't stand how Christians act like they're persecuted when that is their M.O.

There are 7 billion humans.
Jesus is a white people story
There are 1.35,billion Chinese and 1.25 billion Indians... Why aren't they Christians? They're all Godless heathens, right?

Did you disagree with anything I said? Why did man create God to be a male?

After D'Angelo Russell thanked God first when drafted, will you be the one to break it to him that God is man made? I'd like to see that.

My hundreds of millions of God fearing brothers and sisters around the world would let you know that your train of thought is in the very overwhelming minority. Its not only Christians, its Muslims and every other religion. Yet religious and non religious people alike disapprove of homosexuality. Is everyone suppose to turn a blind eye to what the act entails?

Jesus is a white mans story comment is right up there with the God is man made comment. Absolutely absurd.

Would require a real bigot to ban me. Banning me would be completely hypocritical.

In the United States the people that disapprove of homosexuality are the minority. Your way of thinking is quickly dying out. You should come to grips with that.

Let's assume what you say is true. So what if our thought is in the minority?

If you think it's wrong to marry a man, then don't marry a man. There, problem solved.

No one is saying you have to marry a man. Just don't. What's the problem?

Religion is more of a choice than homosexuality. Your words in this post are a disgrace to the Love Jesus preached.

Thankfully America is a place where your kind cannot force people to follow your mythology.

Well, this went downhill fast.

Guys, you are being suckers for a troll. It should have been a clue when he wrote "Would require a real bigot to ban me. Banning me would be completely hypocritical." Either he is yanking your chains or he is some sort of message board martyr wearing a metaphorical explosive vest. Either way, you're suckers.

P.S. Bigotry aimed at religious types is still bigotry. It makes me shake my head when I see people spewing hatred toward religious types because they perceive religious types as spewing hatred. This guy may be playing games, but he is bringing out the worst in you.

We had a far more limited federal government before the constitution.

With an equal protection analysis, we don't get to that point. The question would simply be whether there is a legitimate government interest in banning polygamy. (I am skipping over the different forms of scrutiny that you mentioned. That's a distinction that isn't relevant to the discussion.)

Agree on equal protection. The argument against polygamy is that banning it doesn't violate equal protection, every adult can partner with one other adult, no matter their gender or orientation.

But no definition of marriage has been codified on the federal level, only that all must be allowed to marry, which follows along with prior decision to restrict discriminating against letting people of different races marrying, and prisoners marrying. Without a codified definition (as a number of states have done) then it would seem there is no federal restriction preventing polygamy. Only a matter of time before some Utah family asserts this.

Not on the grounds of equal protection.

It was only a matter of time:

Quote:
Nathan Collier, who lives in Billings, Mont., applied for a marriage license Tuesday for his polygamous relationship with his two wives.

The U.S. Supreme Court decision last Friday on same-sex marriage prompted him to seek the license, he said.

"We've been together many years. I want to give my wife the legitimacy that she deserves," Collier told USA TODAY Network.

The Supreme Court's decision made marriage legal nationwide between same-sex couples. But in his dissent, Chief Justice John Roberts said that the legal argument used to justify same-sex marriage could be used by polygamist couples. Collier said that argument inspired him to apply.

Collier met both of his wives in 1999. He married Victoria in 2000 and had a spiritual ceremony with Christine, he said. Collier now wants to legalize his marriage to both of them, he said.

Their family is not new to the public eye. They appeared on the TLC reality show Sister Wives in January.

County clerk officials took Collier's application and are consulting with the county's attorney's office, according to Collier.
