Maybe in 3-4 years D'Angelo can get Towns to sign and play with the Lakers. #LongTerm
It has really become hard to acquire players who are coming off their rookie contract. It's hard for them to leave money on the table. But yeah we can dream lol _________________

Jeff Goodman on ESPN said today that Philly won't keep all 3 bigs: Okafor, Embiid, and Noel.
Says Noel looks like the odd man out, and Philly will likely play him the early part of the season to raise his trade value and trade him before the trading deadline depending whenever Embiid comes back.
Avg 10/8 last season with 2 blks. Contract is only $3.5 million. _________________ Endgame Hail Hydra
You guys know that any of the Love/Monroe/Lamarcus combination means we need to sign a legit starting center with little money, right? and then we will continue to lack a wing defender. So, common sense dictates we need a center who's actually good at protecting the rim and a wing defender, and not high volume scorers like Love or Lamarcus and that are actually power forwards, while we have Randle on a cheap contract
We need RIM PROTECTION. Best fit or bpa? In this case best fit. Management is really high on Julius and he's somewhat undersized and you know he's playing the 4. So we need a center that can play solid D. DJ can be that guy for us if we're lucky enough to get him. Though Jordan is a huge liability down the stretch of games, his rim protection and insane rebounding will more than make up for it. I'm sure Russell, Clarkson, Randle, and Bryant will all enjoy throwing lobs to him. I'd gladly take Chandler as well. That's the type of 5 we really need. One that doesn't need the ball and and can still contribute without scoring.
Bring LA to LA. His defense is fine. Don't know why people say he's a bad defender - He had an opp Fg% of something like 37% or something around that.
At the 4. Lopez (the underrated person we should target IMO) is their 5. It boggles me that after playing the 4 his entire career that all of Lakerdom seems to have decided that he can be a center now. Its like reverse Pau where we kept shoving him to PF when he excelled at the 5. LMA is a pure 4 who can slide to the 5 for a possession or two but not full time. He's a waste of money on our team. Chandler/R. Lopez/Asik are the types of guys we need. Lunch pail dirty work centers to man the fort while our young players grow.

I think Embiid is turning into the next Oden....Noel will be there 4 next to Okafor....
Like undefeated said above. We need rim protection. Bad. Deandre fits the bill. He doesn't need the ball to score. Deangelo and crew will find him time and time again for easy buckets but we need defense in the paint and in pick and rolls. Deandre has been my FA target all along. If we get him, well surprise some people.
Don't sleep on Greg Monroe. He's the youngest and likely cheapest of the top free agent centers.
He's a double-double, good rebounder, good post scorer, shoots 75% from FT, underrated passer. He's not a rim protector but he's a good low post defender.
It's going to be Monroe; write it. It's
Going to be a very offensive team; sorry guys,
but my crystal ball has confirmed. _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team !
I'm not too familiar with Monroe. From what I remember from the few games I've seen of him, he was a bit slow, didn't rebound too well, and was just ok in terms of p&r d. How does he impact this laker team defensively if he's the C we sign? I know he's decent offensively and has a slightly above average post game but what I am most concerned about is his defense.

No, he's actually a terrible low-post defender. The "weaknesses" section starts at 6:19, and "post defense as a weakness" section starts at about 7:50
If we don't get a great big man this year, there's no need to settle for a sub-par big man that costs a lot of money. We can get a quality FA at some other position this year, and try for a top-flight big next year.
In 2016 we'll have a shot at bigs like Davis, Drummond and Whiteside.
Monroe is kind of at the intersection of "ok" and "blah."
He's not horrible, but he's not great either. I don't have confidence with Monroe as our last line of defense. While playing with Drummond took him further away from the rim, having Drummond also meant the Pistons had some rim protection. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

Kind of the initial impression I got. He didn't wow me but he didn't completely disgust me either. I'm not convinced yet
