Clearly in win now mode which is great. I just wonder how long we're going to suck when Kopitar and company go downhill. |

I don't consider Richards to be on the team anymore. He'll be bought out. |

(bleep) Petry deal screwed up the defensemen FA market. Going to be brutal if there's no Sekera or solution to the Voynov issue.
As for Lucic, he's definitely prick, but he'll be our prick. He's in a spot where he just got traded, so he's going to have to bounce back, especially in a contract season. Love Boston taking half of his cap hit too. Considering Williams wanted just too much money, I think this is a hell of an acquisition. |

Yea, that was a ludicrous deal. The number of affordable FA's is now relegated to trash unless some Cup-starved vet wants to take a big pay cut...
We also got a pretty good steal in the 2nd round with Cernak, who was slated mid-late 1st round.
If Lucic can return to his 25-30 goal self, then it'll be worth it though I didn't want to lose Colin Miller after he made a big leap in progress with the Monarchs. Otherwise, we already have a gritty offensively-challenged crew of forwards, King among them is Dustin Brown. _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif

No one is gonna take him when he'll be free to sign soon. Kings get screwed cap wise for 10 years with the worst of it in 3 or 4 years. Not sure how Dean is gonna maintain the current team by then. He's gonna have to make some hard decisions very soon if not already. The Kings' style of play ages the players real fast. |

he Los Angeles Kings announced the termination of the contract of Mike Richards on Monday in a surprising move made a day after the forward was placed on unconditional waivers.
The team issued the following statement, but declined to comment further:
"The Los Angeles Kings today have exercised the team's right to terminate the contract of Mike Richards for a material breach of the requirements of his standard player's contract. We are not prepared to provide any more detail or to discuss the underlying grounds for the contract termination at this time." _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.

Holy (bleep). This happens and now that brutal recapture on our cap space disappears, opening up room for guys like Sekera to be signed. Im blown away, you don't just terminate contracts for nothing.
Word is that Richards had an incident at the border, and it was a pretty big (bleep) up. |

Bigger than being stupid enough to try and bring blow and ecstasy to a high profile Casino Pool Party in Vegas? |

I'm not quite sure, which is what is so wild to me about this. If an arrest occurred for some major (bleep), you'd figure it would find its way out by now. I'm not really sure what other incidents at the border lead to something major such as contract termination. Contract termination is something the league must approve also, so apparently they felt it was a legitimate move from the Kings. |

Could it actually be something that really just violates the contract agreement (think Vlad Rad going snowboarding a lying about it when he got hurt) versus something actually criminal? The lack of any other news is really bizarre. |

Richards was actually tweeting on Friday hours before this happened:
https://twitter.com/mrichie_10
Dude was out in his boat fishing (I'm assuming), so he maybe he pulled some wild stunt out there like Vlad's snowboarding escapade.
But Dean was also negotiating a deal for him with CGY and EDM on the draft floor, heard the news about this incident, then immediately halted trade talks and elected to terminate the contract.
Other insiders, some who are apparently on Woj's level of hockey scoops, are apparently pretty blown away by the incident but aren't disclosing it right now. If that's true, then I can't imagine it was Richards (bleep) around on a jet ski or something.
To sum this information up; I'm really confused and can't understand the coverup. I mean what the hell is it? Was he with underage girls? Drug running? Funneling ISIS members into the country? |

If it is an arrest, the arrested person can request and have granted a publication ban which means the Canadian press cannot publish the details of the crown's case until they win the case. We might be waiting a long time. Although US media is not restrained by this so actually we'll probably find out sooner than later. |

If he casts his line as accurately as he shoots a puck, he probably fishhooked some mountie's nose. _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif

http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2015/06/30/report-richards-border-incident-involved-oxycodone/
Looks like Rick was smuggling over some Oxycodone on the 17th, nearly two weeks ago. Didn't tell Dean until this last Friday. Other word coming out that he wasn't just detained and Q'd, but formally arrested.
Smuggle a Schedule I drug into the country, get picked off and arrested, then hide the incident from your employer? If all true, good luck winning that grievance... |

Hate to think this, but we really lucked out here. Though it makes me wonder what the Oilers/Flames deals were (McDavid for Richards and Slava ). _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif

TMZ says he hasn't been charged with a crime. May, be a formality at the moment.
Weird that Stohl had cocaine and X and it seems like a lesser deal to the Kings than prescription drugs. |

Oh man, if that highway robbery was going down then Dean would have developed selective amnesia right after that phone call about Richards' incident.
Ridiculous how much the Kings do luck out. We're talking about a negligible cap hit of $1.32 for only the next four years. That opens the door to going after Sekera as we speak. Mind boggling timing. Richards was literally in the waiver process when the Kings got the call about his (bleep) up. |
