3 on 3 was beautiful tonight. What a way to cap off that comeback against Chicago. Kings really controlled play for 45-50 minutes tonight. Deserved those two points.

Nice to see Kopitar and Gaborik reconnecting with the magic we're accustom to.

Yep, gotta get them reinvigorated. Gaborik on pace for a 25 point season. That's not going to get it done. He's a guy who averages 3x that. Kopitar slumping at least has a silver lining in that it'll hurt his FA possibilities and possibly make him more affordable.

Nice that after those two slumping their asses off, the Kings are still leading the division. Really, really hope they could acquire a legit #2 Dman though. Still need that, and while I like Shore, a vet 3rd line C would be nice as well.

Ehrhoff has been ok so far but yea, he's due for an injury and we can use another guy.

Another nice come from behind OT win against the Nuck's, but I'm ready for a basic old start to finish victory.

Agreed. I'm very happy that the Kings are making sure they get the extra point in OT/SO this year, which was something that plagued them last season en route to missing the playoffs. However, I would like to see them get back to jumping on teams early and building the lead.

Happy about: Kings back to their puck possession ways and really pouring in the shots on teams. (1st in the league in Shots For).

Concerned about: Faceoffs. We're roughly 48% as a team and towards the bottom half of the league in this. Not a staple of Kings hockey.

Definitely ties into Kopi's slump.

I'm a pretty new fan and have been watching more games than I ever have. I see they're on top of the division and have had some comeback wins but, how does the play compare to 2014? I don't know all of the little nuances of Hockey so, maybe someone can provide some perspective on how they're really playing. Good? Bad? ok?

Better, more organized, more spirited than 2015, I can say that for sure. Still not at 2nd half 2012 or 2014 levels but getting there.

Kings are #1 in shots for and #1 in goals against. Puck possession numbers are good. Quick looks much better than last season. I think we're getting back to playing the game we want to play. The defense is smaller and less physical than in years past, but more mobile and they move the puck well. I thought that we had some trouble last season with quicker teams that out-skated us, and our D group so far has been able to handle that much better. I agree that the faceoffs are a concern, but I'm not surprised given that we don't have Stoll around anymore (although he had slipped so far in virtually everything else that I am certainly OK with him not being here).

All in all, the Kings look motivated and focused and I'm liking what I'm seeing.

good to hear. I see the record and the games but I know there's more to it. I do notice the puck possession and the shots taken by the Kings though.

They've always been late bloomers so I really like what I see thus far. Won 2 cups playing the right way, man do I believe in this team.

Ryan Johansen on the trade block I've heard. Time for the biennial pilfering of our minor league affiliate?

Yeah, these guys are looking enthused and focused in a way they haven't in a while. I'm going to tomorrow's game and I'm really looking forward to it.

Yeah we had a blast. Just wish the Kings had got more of those goals at the other end of the ice.

Another exciting OT win. I'm not sure if I should be worried about how frequently it comes down to that or pleased about how well they seem to deal with it.

That said, the 3-on3 overtime rule is one of the best things to happen in sports for a LOOOOOONG, long time,

Brown with (bleep) magic in that 3-on-3. Just completely took over on that shift and created a beautiful breakdown in defense in front of the net.

I need a cigarette after passing like that.

The Kings were abysmal in OT last season and it probably cost them a playoff spot. Even with all of their issues last season, the Kings were a pretty good team 5-on-5. This season, OT is being kind to them.

That game winning play was beautiful. I believe it was brown who had the puck, slowly cruising along then ZOOM! changes speeds to start the play. Their puck possession on that OT was awesome.

The 3 on 3 OT, is that new to this season? They play full 5 on 5 20 min. period in the playoffs right?

Yes, it's new for this year. A really great move (finally). Playoffs not affected.

This team is extremely clutch. Jeff Carter IMO is a top 5 player in this league. Ridiculous what he's been doing.
