U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!
More aggressive on offense (4-3-3 looked great), continued dominance on defense (513 straight minutes without conceding a goal), a little luck (no red card for JJ and a penalty for a foul just outside the box) and the underdog(!) Americans are in the World Cup Finals!!
While we looked good in the 4-2-3-1 we got lucky to get by Germany. Julie Johnson should have seen red and I'm still shocked they missed the PK.
Combine that with Alex Morgan not being fouled in the box and in my opinion fouled at all and we were lucky to be in the lead at that point. Our second goal was extremely awesome though!!!
Not a fan of who Ellis is putting on the field up top. I love Morgan, but she clearly isn't at her best and missing opportunities that LeRoux isn't at this time. Some people can hate but I've saw LeRoux personally finish the chances that Rodriguez, Press and Morgan are missing. We got lucky vs Germany, let's see who continues to have the biggest luck since Japan has gotten lucky to get out of a game 3 times this World Cup. _________________ Stop crying and start doing.

I like LeRoux, but I don't see how you can say that she isn't missing chances. She hasn't scored a goal in the tournament. When she played, she wasn't particularly effective, though the midfield issues were the primary reason for this. She's going to be a force in coming years.
The subplot of this tournament, at least to me, is the transition out of the Abby Wambach era. She's had a great career, and her goal against Nigeria was classic Abby. It's a shame that she missed that PK, or else she would go out tied with Marta as the leading career scorer in WWC history. That would be fitting.
