Even though they lost, it is pretty impressive that Japan scored twice on that defense.

Props to the national team, especially Lloyd and my favorite, the UCLA girl Lauren Cheney Holiday!

They get way less than men's teams that LOSE IN THE FIRST ROUND!

The women's game is in its infancy, I doubt it makes much money overseas. Most of the teams in this tournament barely started to get funding from their home countries. The tournament was only started in 1991 and other than the Canadian and US games, most of the stadiums were pretty empty. The Women's World Cup is pretty much the only major exposure for women's soccer. Most of the professional leagues have trouble finding an audience, I believe there have been 2 pro leagues that have folded in the US alone since the last time the US team won the world cup. They are now on their 3rd league in the span of 16 years....

Only one of those goals was from the Japanese team...the other goal was a USA own goal.

One was a garbage goal after we got a 4-0 lead. The other we scored ourselves.

At least it wasn't a 46-0 drubbing; that would've been truly embarrassing.

Sports Illustrated has 25 different covers with 25 different women. (Hint: soccer; hint: USA)

Pretty darn cool.
