Is it possible for lakers to trade Kobe to a contender and get draft picks or anything at all? This will allow us to gear up for the future and get a top 3 pick next year. Also Kobe deserves a chance to win somewhere. Perhaps David lee plus someone else for Kobe?

Two negatives make a positive, so the only way out of this is to extend him again.

No chance whatsoever. As lkjhf wrote, not even Vivek would be stupid enough to trade for Kobe, and that's presuming Kobe would ever agree to any such deal, which he won't. This thread makes pipe dreams look like a no-brainer.

Kobe can approve a trade to any team. His no trade clause has nothing to do with contenders. The above quoted post doubles down on the stupidness. The Kings are now contenders?

Obviously he can approve a trade to any team. I meant that he would only approve a trade to a contender. Learn to read in between the lines

Or can we just ask Phil to trade us Melo into our cap space? It's ironic the 2 superstars who were selfish enough to take all the money they can take are both having a tough time attracting free agents to come and play for them. They probably deserve each other now more than ever.

Hold on, guys. OP has a point. This thread isn't nearly as ridiculous as some of you are making it out to be. See below:
