And we Laker fans thought things were dark across the hall. The Lakers may be considered a joke by NBA owners and players, by the media, but ... at this moment .... at the beginning of summer... we're still not screwed. Hard to believe that Mitch & Jim got some things right. Even in our darkest moments hope is still alive. A lot of the pack is coming back our way. Clippers, Kings, trailblazers, Suns, even the Mavs havent helped themselves as much to sustain a Spur type success story. Windows are closing. _________________ "If you see me in a fight with a bear, prey for the bear". Ive always loved that quote. Thats "mamba mentality" we don't quit, we don't cower, we don't run. The Clippers may actually be a threat to get Durant next season. Jordan leaving gives them a ton of cap space. |

The Clippers don't have any cap space even without him. Biggest difference now is they don't have a center.
I don't get this move. Going to Dallas with an aging Nowitzki? How is he going to win there? Why didn't he more seriously consider the Lakers if he wants to be a star? |

Looks like DJ wants to be the man. But won't that put even more attention on his free throw shooting?
Aldridge wanted to win which is why he didn't want to become a Laker. So I'm kind of annoyed that DJ, who obviously doesn't care about winning didn't take the Lakers as an option more seriously. |

I can't make a new post since I haven't reached the 100 minimum, so here it is -
QFTOS - Clippers Edition!
Quote: | Judas.
Benedict Arnold.
we gave him everything.
**** man.
no wings.
no C.
**** deandre jordan. |
Quote: | Haha. Later DJ. I dont like basketball players who cant read anyway |
sounds like a bitter ex-gf
Quote: | Doc and Ballmer must feel like hell. Sterling at home laughing. |
Quote: | At least this isn't going to hurt as much as Elton Brand's decision |
Quote: | I'm not mad at him for leaving, but making us all hang on like this and missing out on other FA's.
He's an a***** and **** weasel in my book. He's dead to me. |
Quote: | I'm so depressed right now... What a way to start a "new era" for the Clippers |
Quote: | F*ck You DJ. You will sink with Dallas. And Blake better dunk over ur face when we play against you. Or foul you all game. |
Quote: | I hope Doc fouls him 50 times a game when we play that team. |
Quote: | Posterize his dumb ass. He is a dumb ass too. Must miss his mommy too much. |
Quote: | Screw you, DJ. At least we don't have to hear clunk, clunk st the line anymore. |
Quote: | FOR SALE: Genuine autographed photo of Deandre Jordan. Hang it with your display of other losers that took their LA club for a ride (that can include any sport), even full blown teams, for instance the Rams).
I really do have one. And a basketball. Glad I spent no money for them. |
Quote: | Safest bet is to buy CP jersey. His contract is the longest |

I somewhat disagree.
Where DAJ really helped them was on D. He helped on O, but his FT shooting and inability to shoot jumpers didn't help their O. Unless they constantly used him in PnR he didn't have impact there. They'll be fine on O. Where the major loss is on D.
So what they have to do is copy GST. Move Griffen to 5, and bring in a long athletic 4 man. They did is even a few years ago with Lamar and at times it worked, but Lamar was done as a player. If they can find someone like that using trade bait like Crawford (and more pieces) and adopt a mindset that they'll be relentless at using pace and being versatile enough to switch up on man D, they can stay right where they were.
Remember they have Paul, Griffen, Pierce, Stephenson, Redick, Crawford etc. They have a lot of wing talent, a lot of playmakers. They've got to be smart about how they want to play and how to use Griffen next year. Even if you ran a Pierce/Stephenson/Paul/Griffen unit, you could probably switch all 4 defensively.
I won't be surprised if LAC stay in the top 6 of the West, and Dallas hovers at 7/8/9 in the West. |

A joke of a logo and a disaster with DJ to kick off the summer. Smells like the same old Clippers.
Meanwhile Chandler Parsons seems to have cornered the market on transplanting free-throw challenged centers from LA to Texas. |

Whether Dallas is the right place for him is questionable, though I can't fault him for leaving the Clippers. 4 seasons into the CP3 era and the most they accomplished was tying their prior Franchise best of making it to the 2nd Round. Particularly, the way the lost the 2nd round last season, after it had seemed they were starting to figure things out after beating the Spurs, has to be one of the bigger momentum killers one can run across in sports.
Again, I don't know if the Mavs were his best choice, but I can't blame the dude for wanting a fresh start after this Clipper team found progressively more heartbreaking ways to lose with each passing season. |

$80 mil and not having to wear that (bleep) new jersey they just came out with. Now that's having your cake and eating it too. |

If they can land Hibbert they won't miss DJ. Even without, they'll be fine. They've improved in other areas they suffered from last season. |
