This is a thread for those of us looking forward to rooting for our young players this season!!!

I can't wait to see how they do in Summer League and then the progress they make by Training Camp and the start of the season. They are a great group of guys....talented and smart.

Looking forward to watching their leader on the floor....Russell.

It will be an exciting time for Laker fans!

Russell
Black
Clarkson
Randle
Brown
Nance
Brown
Upshaw (Hopefully)!

Seconded! Get these young guys going and make the other FAs regret joining in on the ground floor!

Bye.

We already got our star players.

Lakers drafted them these last 2 seasons.

Free Agency shouldn't be about getting the biggest fish, it should be about trying to get solid players that we can build around D'Angelo Russell, Julius Randle, and Jordan Clarkson.

Me neither. We're going undefeated! It's going to be a good way to take our minds off of free agency

Can't wait to see our new guys in summer league

Russell, Black, Clarkson, Randle, Brown, and Nance are a great core to build around. I might be overly optimistic, but I have a great feeling about this group of guys. I feel like will all be rotation players for us on the next championship team.

Even Kelly has a chance of turning it around this season. Last year was just a mess in general, but he seems like a hard worker. Getting injured early on and having to play out of position at SF really seemed to mess with his rhythm, but he did turn out some pretty good games when he got to play the 4. Still gotta work on that rebounding though.

Go Lakers!

Even if we'll suck, I will be behind them. I want to see a line up of Russell-Clarkson- Brown/Nance- Julius - Upshaw/Balck play huge amount of minutes.
This will be their best chance to develop.
Go Babies. Run'n'gun!

Me too. We are the only team in the league that gets to put its whole team on the floor for summer league. It's like an extra preseason for the lakers.

We aren't going to win a ton of games next season if we don't get some more vets, but the core is promising and will be damn fun to watch.

Something interesting brought up in the upshaw radio interview is that he will get to prove himself against the #1 and the #3 picks in the draft who are both centers.

No better time to show off what he can do

Good thread kobe_luvur. I'm in total agreement. Very excited to see Russell, Clarkson, Randle and the other young Lakers. If these guys can stay healthy, I think their talent will show.

In a few years free agents will want to play for the Lakers. Laker fans aren't use to patience, but it's going to take some time. Doing something foolish like trading the young guys for Cousins will leave the Lakers with even less talent. Who would Cousins have to play with? Lakers can't gut the team for him.

This Laker team is going to be young, energetic, and have a chip on their shoulder. Randle and Clarkson seem to have learned from Kobe, and are always in the gym working on their game. I expect Russell, Nance, and Brown will follow Kobe's lead and do the same. Next year the team will play hard every night whether they win or lose. I'm pumped.

I'm very excited for this season. I expect it to be really rough going at the start, but if we can stay healthy, maybe the young guys gel by the end of the season and play a month or two of solid basketball.

At least it will be guys with a future in the organization this season. Last year sucked to me because I knew most guys on the team would never play for the Lakers again. The guys I liked were the guys with a future in the organization like Clarkson and Black. This year a lot more guys who play should have a future.

My concern is bigs, we drafted a pg and have not been able to sign a big. Is that going to haunt this team for years come? I love our pick, but Oak is a scorer for sure and is huge.

I'm like this too. I don't mind this phase in the Laker spectrum, and I'm almost glad we didn't get any big names. I think it's exciting to see young players develop. I don't need to see a championship run every year.
