What do you think about JaVale McGee, I don't know much about his IQ, but I always thought he was a pretty good player.

Can LakerGround share some insight on this player...

He's a poor man's version of DeAndre.

Lowest iq possible but great athlete and good shot blocker.

I haven't seen upshaw, so I don't know who i prefer.

Wouldn't McGee as back up though

Agree, right now he would be a good filler for that lack of Laker bigs.

I've been saying it all along, between him and Sanders we need to sign one of them to a contract, what do we have to lose?

Absolutely NOTHING!!!

He is tall and athletic, but yet nobody signed him last season.

There must be something not right (his attitude, IQ, etc.)
or
else teams would be jumping at him.

First reaction was sure, only because it would be taking a player from the Clips. He's hurt a lot, he blocks shots but takes a lot of chances. Thing is, the market is getting bare for bigs, so maybe for the space X, but I'd have to see other options at SF and G.

Depends on the price. But I'd take him for the room X as a backup. Actually he'd be a better fit with Russ/Randle than Hibbert, IMO.

I definitely don't want a Swaggy and McGee reunion. Goodbye locker-room.

If only he could get his head together. He is an athletic freak like Dwight/DJ, the problem with him is he got his screws loose. He also has asthma issues I think, so he cannot play for longer periods of time. He is good in spurts, with great PG, blocks shots and delivers killer dunks. He made Bynum his (bleep) when we played them back when...

Some of these things plays are just unbelievable. Best part is George Karl's reactions.

With that said...lets offer him the vet min. High reward / low risk, plus keeps him away from the Clippers lol

I would have rather have had Ed Davis, but as a backup to Hibbert, I would definitely sign him.

Combine McGee with Young and you might have enough combined IQ to equal Young's jersey number.

Lakers, Mavericks interested in free agent JaVale McGee

I'd rather see the Lakers show a little more interest in currently UNSIGNED Upshaw myself...
