Just one Q?? Maybe I am overreacting but can we call Hibbert the worst lakers signing in terms of salary against production and contribution on the court. I mean for this salary his contribution is mopping the floor here and there. |

Hibbert has looked like his legs have been gone since about the 2nd week of the season.
Something tells me Scott's practices have a lot to do with that too. The guy shouldn't be falling down as often as he does but his legs just look gone. |

I know it is not the best case scenario, but if we add one piece this offseason, but fail to get a second significant player, the FO will likely be looking for a player or two to be salary holds on one year deals to maximize the next offseason.....and Hibbert may not be the worst guy to fill that role. I think he could be decent with limited minutes off the bench. He will not be a problem in the locker room.
This scenario is better than panicking and giving a mid level player near max money for 4 years. |

At least it seems to me Hibbert has been a good pro....we may not have vets who can play, but they seem to be good dudes, which is at least one positive in terms of how it can influence the younger guys |

While I agree Scott's practices are (bleep), Hibbert has been falling down a lot for 5 years. That's not new _________________ Kobe |

I don't know if I've ever seen a former All-Star under 30 completely fall off a cliff like Roy has without injury, off-court issues, or substance abuse being the cause. He'll get another contract, but I'd be shocked if he averages more than 20 mpg for a season ever again. |

Probably, but Ryan Hollins is still sitting on an NBA bench. Roy can do that for several more years. |

They both can do that. But not on lakers bench.
A lot of times I think current Hakeem Olajuwon can do Roys job better. At least the same. Such as strecthing your hands up in the air hoping and PRAYING they can block a shot. _________________ Kobe's Top 5 Dunks, 81 points, MJ last gm @Staples |

And Roy will have the same benefit that Kwame had, a big ending contract. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Article on Roy Hibbert:
nothing new to report.
Quote: | It looks like Roy Hibbert will play the remainder of the season with the Los Angeles Lakers. Steve Kyler of Basketball Insider included Hibbert in his list of potential post-trade deadline buyout candidates, though he stressed there’s a slim chance the Lakers will buy out the former All-Star center before the March 1 deadline.
Kyler noted that one of the reasons why the Lakers want to keep Hibbert until the end of this season is his positive locker room influence, becoming a big brother figure to young guys D’Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson, Larry Nance Jr. and Julius Randle. |

Say what we will about how done he could be as a starting 5 in this league, but as a locker room presence, vet and as a good guy, he's very important in seasons like this, especially for the young guys. |

Unfortunately, it also means Byron will continue to play him over Tarik Black for the remainder of the season. Not that I have anything against Hibbert, and I'm sure he's a good influence on the guys. I just prefer to see Black out there because he's a better fit with Russell/Clarkson.
I'm not sure if I can stomach another 22 min, 4 point, 1 rebound stat line. That's just... not fair. |

Hibbert is finished. He is not an NBA caliber player anymore.
Something about Hibbert's body composition has always felt weird to me and tonight I finally figured it out. Hibbert is 7 foot yet he has the leg length of a 5 footer. He is all torso. |

You are absolutely correct - you are, indeed, overreacting. |
