How do you guys project the roster

C:
Hibbert, Black, Sacre or Upshaw

PF:
Randle, Kelly, Nance

SF:
Kobe, Young, Brown

SG:
Clarkson, Brown

PG:
Russell, ?????

could still really use a swingman. So do you guys see Clarkson as a SG combo guard? Can Russell start day one? Kobe at SF?

I think Kelly and young will be gone before the season in a trade for someone or cap relief, not sure...

We need another Backup PG or a 2 and Clarkson can play the point. We definitely need a three, we are really lacking in that area.

I honestly think there will be some trouble with Russell and Kobe on the floor together, even with Clarkson, Kobe is too ball dominant and those guys are also in order to initiate with the ball.

You don't think the David West will becoming for the Vet Min to follow Hibbert?

No, it would be nice, will give us more of a bench, but who knows Hibbert might have some pull with West.

Kobe, West, Hibbert in the starting lineup, would give us adequate death off the bench either way, if u start them or the rookies...
We're still lacking a true Three and backup PG, to round things out.

Kobe/SwaggyP/Brown

Hibbert/Black/Upshaw

As I see it, we need a backup pg the most right now.

SF: Kobe/(cap space)/ABrown
SG: Clarkson/Young/JBrown
PG: Russell/Clarkson/(min)

Even with Hibbert we get murdered on the defensive end unless the young guys learn team D quickly. I think we go after a backup wing with leftover cap space and use the room exception to get another big. And then some D-League fodder as PG insurance.

C: Roy Hibbert - Tarik Black - Robert Upshaw

PF: Julius Randle - Larry Nance Jr. - Ryan Kelly

SF: Nick Young - Anthony Brown

SG: Kobe Bryant - Jabari Brown

PG: D'Angelo Russell - Jordan Clarkson

Will that team make the playoff?

I would pick Jordan Farmar or Jeremy Lin as the 3rd PG

With this lineup scoring will not be a problem.
And making the playoffs will depend on how fast Russell/Randle/Clarkson
come around especially on defense.
Rebounding and defense will be the keys to playoff success.

Would you pick Upshaw over Sacre? Haven't seen Upshaw play yet.
Do we need a defensive SF?
Can Russell and Clarkson man the PG position without experience?

Agree with this roster unless a trade is made.

Biggest additions are a SF. And a 3rd string PG IMO.

I would have no issues with re-signing Price as the PG. Hardworking professional that will be a valuable practice player for both Russell and Clarkson. Both in helping them both improve their defense. And in pushing them to go against solid defense while on offense.

SF is more of a tough call. It is likely going to be a journeyman sharing mpg . Johnson is a decent fit IMO. I know others like Green or Casspi. Definitely going to be interesting to see how the Lakers fill this need.

Hopefully we sign Cory Joseph to play backup PG and we are good to go.

Can't afford Lin's salary; Farmar is a strong possibility.

I'd get Austin Rivers

I think we might see Randle and Nance play some at both forward positions.

Byron already mentioned he is starting them together so that point is mute. Plus he's more proven. He literally just won all 1st rookie team last season.

If anything, it's more likely Russell comes off the bench than Clarkson. But I believe it's more likely that they just both start together.

Yeah, I keep seeing people post that, but he seemed to be talking about summer league when he said that. He also said at this point Russell is better than Clarkson. We'll see when the season starts.

Clarkson has played a full year. Russell a rookie. Why should he be starting over Clarkson and also it wasn't just summer league. He said they both would start plus in summer league. Also Kobe should be at SF at this point of his career. Espically considering he hasn't proven to stay healthy the last 2 years.
