I just hope he doesn't take a second away from Russell and Clarkson. Knowing Byron he'll probably play him 40 minutes.
Lou Will knows his role. He has stated as much. Scott knows that his future as a Lakers head coach depends a lot on Rusell/Clarkson's development. He has done a good job with Clarkson, why wouldn't he continue the same with Russell? _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

He only gave Clarkson a shot because Kobe was MIA.

Scott knows what Clarkson gave the team last season. He isn't going to cut his minutes especially if Jordan picks up where he left off. Also, Scott believes Russell can be a superstar, so I doubt he's going to shortchange him on minutes. Both young guards are going to get plenty of minutes along with Lou Williams.

Yep. Kobe's gonna be a SF from now. I can see the guard rotation being Russell/Clarkson/Williams. We need to add a defensive minded 3 with legit size to guard the likes of Durant and LeBron when they come to town. I don't wanna see Kobe having to log 35 minutes against them. Kobe can guard most other 3s in the league though.
As ridiculous as it might seem to suggest this, we might need to resign Wes Johnson again. This time hopefully as a backup to Kobe.

Byron also values Kobe's opinion probably more than he should. If Kobe prefers the Lou I suspect we'll see Lou.

It will be interesting to see what Anthony Brown can do for us. He is 22 so he might be ready to contribute right away.
I also think that Nance can play some SF. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss
I really do think we got him on the 3 year deal as an asset. $21/3 is a pretty good deal for a 6th man of the year. We really have no use for a player like him, even without Nick Young. If anything, we'd need a defensive PG to come off the bench.
Lou Williams believes he can help Kobe Bryant reduce his workload
Quote:
“When he goes out, I’m sure I’ll be coming in,” Williams said of Bryant in a phone interview on Monday with Los Angeles News Group. “That’s how it will work. We won’t have too many lapses. We’ll be able to keep the scoring level going and give him an opportunity to get a breather and then he’ll come back in.”
Quote:
“It’s well documented how competitive Kobe is and how tough Byron can be on his players sometimes,” said Williams, whose three-year, $21 million contract with the Lakers does not include any player or team options. “That comes from guys wanting to win games and wanting to win at a high level. That’s something I wanted to do as well. I think it can elevate me.”

so lou williams wants to play defense and distribute the ball? goo to hear, hope its not lip service tough
He averaged 4 apg in under 30 mpg in Philly. He is a good assist guy.
yupe i checked that.
i am curious to know why ATL traded lo/2013 1st rounder beb away to raptors for john salmons
and then raptors didnt had any interest in signing him back

he's a chucker and they Derozan already. _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. This season could get awkward at times, but the keys are managing minutes to where Young and Williams can operate on their own at different times of the game, and be effective for their time on the floor.

Since when do chuckers average 4 apg in under 30 mpg? _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
Second time this summer too that he dropped 51. Can't wait to see him, Jabari, and Young with their gunz blazin. We gonna cap an ass on the whole league.
i like what the lakers did here with Williams. We're moving into a time of position less basketball and the lakers are looking like they want to lead the way. We can create mismatches all over the court now and with Lou will playing PG that forces the elite PG in the west to exert energy on defense to slow him down!
We selected a versatile bunch of guys in his draft.
Russell is a combo guard with an almost 6'10 wingspan and most likely still growing.
Nance is a freak that's really tough to peg. He has the quickness and foot speed of a small forward, the length and strength of a power forward, and the verticle reach of a center (shaq, and howard also had a 12'5 VR)
A brown is a guy that can play both wing positions.
