There are only a few NBA caliber players on this team; Sweet Lou is definitely one of them. |

Runway8 wrote: | Is anyone else besides me disappointed with this guy? Good thing he's having a career year getting to the foul line, otherwise, this signing would look worse. He's every bit the inefficient chucker I thought he would be. He was never a very accurate shooter to begin with and so far he's dipping below his career average, actually career lows at 37.8% and 21.7% from threes.
Like I've mentioned, guys like Lou, JR Smith, Swaggy, Jamaal Crawford, etc. are useful on contending teams. Their streaky shooting can bust a game wide open, and when they're off, which they often are, it doesn't hurt as much because the team is actually a good team that has other options, real all-star options. On a bad team like ours, if they have a good night, it doesn't even gaurantee a win, and when they're having an off night, it almost guarantees a lost. They are not dependable and we have two of them.
The problem is when the Lakers make these moves, they make them with the confidence that we would be a contending team. But we're not, and all they do is slow down the development of the younger players. If we're going to lose, Russell should play the 4th, not Lou. Anthony Brown should trump Swaggy in the rotation if we're serious about rebuilding.
I was keeping my fingers crossed that Lou might be fine wine. That he can build upon that 6th man award, that he keeps improving like Nash at this age. But it doesn't look like it. |
I'm right there with you. Williams is completely pointless on this team, and probably on any good team in general. When he is in the game he hijacks your entire offense, and on the defensive end he might as well not be in the game.
We could be giving Anthony Brown minutes right now at SG if we didn't have Lou. I'd tried him at the first possible opportunity. _________________ You are either in or on your way to the NBA Finals. |

I think we got him 2 years too early. Better on a contending team than stealing minutes from youngsters (not his fault of course). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

This happened Sept. 13th??
LAKERS' LOU WILLIAMS CUFFED IN VEGAS 'I Did Nothing Wrong'
TMZ Sports has obtained footage of Lakers guard Lou Williams handcuffed by police and slammed up against a cop car in front of a casino in Vegas ... but the NBA player insists he did NOTHING wrong.
We've learned ... Williams was detained in front of The Cromwell hotel and casino on the Vegas strip in the early hours of September 13th ... after the Mayweather vs. Berto fight.
Witnesses at the scene tell us, Williams was involved in an altercation with "a large man" -- and cops rushed in to break it up. We're told Williams adamantly denies being involved in a fight.
Williams was handcuffed and slammed up against a police car -- but the Las Vegas Metro Police Department tell us they have NO RECORD showing Williams was formally arrested that night.
We spoke with Lou's agent Wallace Prather III who tells us, "Apparently there was an issue that [Lou] wasn't involved in, which is why they didn't arrest him."

Lakers' Lou Williams tries to remain patient
Quote: | Lou Williams has not had the success he might have imagined when he signed a contract with the Lakers that will pay him $21 million over three years.
Williams has become a late-game favorite of Coach Byron Scott, but has been far from the offensive lightning bolt that made him the Sixth Man of the Year last season in Toronto.
Through 11 games, Williams is shooting just 32.7 percent from the field and 22.4 percent from 3, down from 40.4 percent and 34 percent a year earlier.

Lou Will Living at the Line
Quote: | The reigning Sixth Man of the Year is currently 14th in the NBA in made free throws (5.2). But none of those ahead of him come off the bench or play fewer than 32 minutes per game — seven more than Williams does.
“That’s an art,” head coach Byron Scott said at Thursday’s practice. “The way he draws them is an art form. He draws more fouls from the 3-point line than I’ve ever seen anybody. I don’t know if that’s teachable.” |

Lou Williams’ Leadership An Added Bonus For Young Core
Quote: | Los Angeles Lakers head coach Byron Scott was noticeably frustrated after Monday’s loss to the Phoenix Suns, calling on his team to “man up,” and discrediting any concerns about fatigue on a back-to-back. By Thursday, Scott had reviewed the tape and softened up Monday’s frustration, even mentioning that the early road trip took its toll on the young Lakers core.
Scrimmaging (and box-out drills) were the the theme of Thursday’s practice and Scott was satisfied with the competitiveness and spirit on the practice floor, but his biggest concern is still how to translate great practices into game time, specifically in the area of communication. |

I'm not gonna defend the guy anymore he's freaking terrible. He kills us every game unless he's getting to the line. That's the only thing he does well. Kills me we could've signed someone like Corey Joseph for the same exact money. Raptors were right to not even offer him a contract this summer. Mitch really has no idea what he's doing in free agency to build this roster. |

A bunch of us here wanted Joseph for his defense. He's improved his offense too and runs the team. Lou on the other hand. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

We could have had Ed Davis or Cory Joseph, instead we got a guy who deserves to be straight up waived. _________________ You are either in or on your way to the NBA Finals. |

Lou Williams instead of Corey Joseph, Aaron Afflalo
Nick Young and doesn't even extend a qualifying offer to Kent Bazemore, who is now starting for the Atlanta Hawks.
I love Mitch but he is not immune to criticism, he hasn't done a good job building this roster. |

Mitch is handing out contracts like they are skittles. First the Swaggy P extension then the Lou Will deal. Just terrible.. |

Lou is such a detriment on the court. He has the worst shot selection I have ever seen. |

Would like Lou gone ASAP so he can stop using up so many of the meager supply of shots left over after Kobe's done eating. |
