Very solid veteran and a great signing with all the youngsters on this roster, but a surprise as nothing was rumored about him.

The addition of him and Hibbert was also good because of health reasons. The past 3 seasons the injuries have been ridiculous

He's wearing #2

First Fish wore it, now Bass wears it.

Anyone worried this will just be a rental?

Brandon Bass signed a $6.135 mil, two year deal with the Lakers, player option on 2nd season

Sounds a lot like the davis deal

Nice and cheap. Wish he was locked in for that 2nd year, but good signing nonetheless.

Honestly... I doubt they will need him much during the 2nd season. Black, Nance, and Randle makes the 4 spot pretty deep. He's going to mentor for a year and then probably move on.

Bass should be the primary backup for Randle, I think he'll get a lot of playing time. There's no guarantee Nance will cut it in the NBA, he was a reach pick, and Bass is definitely better than Black.

Just because Chad Ford and the Draft express people had him going in the 2nd round, doesn't mean NBA gm's with a far better ability to scout, and an ability to personally test and work out the players... saw it as a reach pick.

I predict Nance Jr. will be much better for us than expected!

Regardless... he's a late first rounder. How many late first rounders ever amount to anything? It's rare.

Our P&R and rim defense is going to be solid. Teams will be shooting a lot of jumpers against us. We need to focus on driving players off the 3 point line and make those jumpers long 2's.
