Byron Scott loves having Brandon Bass as part of the mix
Quote: | Bass has averaged a modest 7.0 points and 4.3 rebounds. But after nursing an eye injury that kept him out of Tuesday’s contest against Sacramento, Bass returned on Friday against Phoenix off of a recent tear. In the previous 11 contests, Bass has averaged 10.2 points on 60.7 percent shooting and 5.0 rebounds.
“I just try to go out there and play the right way,” Bass said. “I let things happen instead of trying to force the issue.” |

This is more realistic & not a bad start at all. I'll take it in a heartbeat.

That would be (bleep) awesome. You could also use JC as trade bait to plug in another hole. |

Another solid night for Bass!
He has silently put together a nice string of games.
18 points on 7-10 shooting, 6 rebounds, good hustle & great defense.
I would love to have him back in LA next season. |

Glad to see him playing so well, I never understood the hate he received early on in the season. It's not his fault our idiot coach played him at C when he has been a PF his entire career |

He's playing better as the undersized center. The asinine coaching move was pairing him with Rkelly. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Judging from his comments, it seems like he's willing to come back here on another deal to help the young guys, but there's no doubt in my mind that he'll decline his PO, when he can get more than three million in the offseason. |

He is solid.
Guys get really excited about giving time to young players, but at preseason I had him starting until Julius could be ready.
If I remember my starting 5 was:
Clarkson
Kobe
Young
Bass
Hibbert
With time to develop without pressure the young dudes would be starting after the all-star break like they are now. |

It's up to him if he wants to stay right? He's got a player option? Great vet off the bench though. |

He deserves to get paid. Either here or somewhere else, really hope we keep him though. |

With the FA-- Moratorium period being shorten we might be able to keep him. some of these role players want there contract locked up .. ASAP. but I think Bass has already grown to love the city and the team and might be willing to wait it out until the Lakers fill out the roster before resigning with the team and he's gonna look very good next year when we have a new coach and roster. |

A solid vet that any team should be happy to have.
I really like his game - no nonsense, take it up strong when within dunking range, and no gimmicks. Excellent jumper off of 2 feet when stationary. |

Bass started the season a little sub-par, but has really started to shine recently and has been showing more 'true to form' play for him.
I also really hope the Lakers/Bass come to an agreement over the summer. Bass is an ideal vet, big man off the bench. Really like him. _________________ "We might have had the worst season ever or could have the worst season ever for a Lakers team, but now let's have the greatest comeback that the league has ever seen." - Kobe Bryant |

This. Early in the season he was trying to finesse a few things. Now he is just #strongarm _________________ "We might have had the worst season ever or could have the worst season ever for a Lakers team, but now let's have the greatest comeback that the league has ever seen." - Kobe Bryant |

Yet another decent game from Mr. Bass.
10 points on 4-5 shooting, good hustle, effort and defense.
Bass provides a very consistent veteran presence for the young guys to learn from. |

Yes, he has a player option which I assume he will decline and get a new contract. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

How about those gosu screens he set in the fourth quarter which let Russell do his thing? Now that's how you set screens. He's def a keeper next season. |

His arms are so freakishly long. You don't really notice it until he goes up 2-handed for a dunk.
I still don't like him at center and I don't think I ever will. |

He's been great on other teams in the past, but initially I didn't agree on him getting so much playing time, especially over Black. Now I'm liking what I see from him on the court and I hope he stays. But I doubt he will when he could be helping a contender next year. The only right move Byron has made all year is giving him a run as our small ball 5. |
