RUMOURS: Abramovich will SELL HAZARD to buy Ronaldo

According to AS, the Chelsea owner has identified the Real Madrid superstar as the best way to revive the Blues, with or without under-pressure manager Jose Mourinho
Is Cristiano Ronaldo the man to revive Chelsea after their dreadful start to the Premier League season? Blues owner Roman Abramovich is convinced that he is, according to a report in AS.
While Jose Mourinho is understood to be safe in his job due to a lack of available alternatives, Abramovich is claimed to be looking to pick up the team's fortunes by returning to the huge spending that defined the club in the years following his arrival.
The Spanish newspaper says that the Chelsea chief is readying "an irresistible offer" for Ronaldo that could break the world-record transfer fee by going over €100 million (£70.1m) - and that he is willing to fund the bid by selling first-team stars like Oscar, Nemanja Matic and even last year's Premier League Player of the Season, Eden Hazard.
Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in prising Ronaldo away from Real Madrid, with some positive noises over a move to France already allegedly having been made.
Chelsea are in dire trouble in their defence of the Premier League title, sitting just three points above the relegation places after 12 games of the season.
That would be sensory overload for me. Jose Mourinho . . . and Cristiano Ronaldo . . . at Chelsea. Can we get Jay Cutler and Alex Rodriguez on the team, too? How about Jihadi John? Oh, wait, too late for that one.
Why on earth would Ronaldo want a step down to join Chelsea? If he ever came back to England surely it'd only be Utd.
Chelsea are basically Tottenham with money. Also worth considering that Ronaldo didn't exactly love Jose at Real either.. _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.
It's London. Don't underestimate that factor for a guy like Ronaldo. Why do you think big name stars are willing to play out their careers at NYCFC or the LA Galaxy? Oddly enough, I haven't seen any of those guys on the Houston Dynamo or on Real Salt Lake.

I loved watching young Ronnie at Utd. Now his ego just can't match his ability; the guy makes Narcissus drown himself in despair.

I live in London, I know all about that. But at the same time, it's not the massive draw that people outside of England perceive it to be. For Ronaldo, he lived in Manchester and liked it there, and does still have love for Utd.
Chelsea aren't a big enough club to land someone like him. Stadium is small, as is their following compared to clubs like Liverpool, Utd or Arsenal. Chelsea don't have much history either, the only reason anyone would want to play for them is money, which isn't so much of an advantage when Utd or City could match. Add in their struggles this season, their reputation for being boring and playing negative football, and then there is the Jose factor, I seriously doubt Ronaldo would ever want to play for him again. Then again, how much longer will Jose even be at Chelsea? _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.

Most of those factors (other than money, of course) mean little to players. London is glamor and marketing, which is what Ronaldo is all about right now.
Yeah, I'm impressed by Klopp. Liverpool may not have the horses to get a top 4 finish this year, but they're going to make a run at it. I could also see Liverpool getting into the UCL through the back door by winning the Europa League.

This is the point for me, he has done a great job so far and might be Liverpool's most important acquisition in years, but as much as a great manager can maximise his team's potential, I think their ceiling is that of a borderline top 4 contender, the talent on their team is still a step below some of the big teams in the league. _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.
I'm rethinking this, actually. Yes, Liverpool does not have the same talent as the big clubs. But, at least at the moment, Liverpool is hitting on all cylinders, while the other big clubs are underachieving, dysfunctional, or both. Stoke 2, Man City 0. That's what kind of season this is. So why not Liverpool? Talent matters, but talent can also be wasted.
