So is Ramos still joining ManU? Lewandowski? _________________ “Properly read, the bible is the most potent force for atheism ever conceived.”

Doubt it. According to reports we're putting in a final bid of €60M for Ramos and Bayern are insistent they are not selling any more of their marquee players. Otamendi is holding out of training with Valencia, Sergio Romero is reportedly close to signing for €2M per year to be backup with Valdez gone. A lot of fans want Lacazette, but I don't see many stories linking us with him (Arsenal is linked with him, though). With Benteke gone to Liverpool, it doesn't leave many attractive options for strikers on the market. Di Maria for Cavani, perhaps? *shudder* Or we could keep Chicharito for another season and go for a striker next window.

I don't think Ramos is worth it. Already 29, and his history of red card should trouble anyone who'd take him. Good player, but with a huge transfer fee, how many more years of world class football does he realistically have left in him?
Utd need at least more defender, and definitely a striker - a good one at that. _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.

I agree. Would rather have Otamendi at half the price and 2 years younger, but LVG prefers a ball-playing center half (because 'filosophee') and they don't get any better than Ramos.
As far as striker goes, I could see us sticking with Chicharito rather than buy a talented but unproven striker (Lacazette) or a hot-and-cold/hit-or-miss one like Benteke. Honestly want to see how Harry Kane does this season for Spurs; if he puts on a show like last season, no doubt Manchester United/Woodward throw the kitchen sink at Levy to sign him. _________________ Character Manchester United | Greatest European Moments Fabric of United - Our Belief
Looks like Benteke might be going to LIverpool. BBC reporting that Liverpool are meeting his buyout clause of 32.5m ££ _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.

This guy at 7:55 agrees that MLS should be banned:
Well, he's an idiot.
I'll say MLS, for all its detractors, is generally headed the right direction. More revenue sharing will make smaller clubs more competitive and will allow teams to attract foreign talent while growing home-grown talent.
However, I do agree with Klinsmann that US Soccer needs to develop more youth talent like Yedlin so that top clubs in Europe from all major leagues want to sign them and eventually have them play on the first team on a regular basis. I'll add that in order for MLS to get rid of the stigma of being a retirement league for former European legends, it'll have to start by going after 2nd tier European league talents (English Championship League, Spanish Segunda División, Bundesliga 2, Serie B, Eredivisie, etc.) with more attractive offers, top level coaching (including mangers with European experience), and establishing relationships with European agents/club officials. _________________ Character Manchester United | Greatest European Moments Fabric of United - Our Belief
