PostPosted: Thu Feb 02, 2006 8:38 am    Post subject: Peja is better than Odom.

Lately, I've been arguing a lot about Peja with some Serbian fans who support Peja of course.

They've been telling me for some time that Peja's still a great player but he needs out of Sacramento.
My theory was different. I was telling them that Peja's lazy, aging, declining etc...

Guess they were right and yesterday it showed.

What's the most negative thing you can say about Peja?
He plays no defense....
Well, like Odom does...

Odom is so versatile...wow, what's that? He can rebound, he has a court vision and passing ability but a low bball IQ.
That stupidity of his takes good stuff away from him.

Odom is a lost cause. I'm sorry but I'd have anyone instead of him right now.

Initiator? PLEASEEEEE!!!!!
WTH is Odom initiating? Even Ben Wallace could do his job as an initiator.

All in all, Odom is a mess.

I regrat not trading him for Artest.
I regrat not trading him for Peja.
I regrat not trading him any player.

I can't tell you how much I hate our #2 guy. No Chris not you...

Oodm must go!!!!!! He already should've been gone.

Watch both Peja and Artest carry their teams while this Clipper idiot for life will continue with his layed back play night in and night out.
The one thing we can expect from Odom is inconsistancy.

Peja > Odom
Artest >> Odom.

There's nothing positive I can say about Odom.

Passing ability
Ballhandling
Court vision

What for?

Odom can't be a playmaker.

He can't defend his position. He can't defend the PF position.
Walking missmatch...both ways.

Can't shoot.

Odom is a really bad fit to Odom. Period.

As of right now, I don't hope we trade him. I hope we get rid of him and his contract. Geez. I want this Odom episode to end.
And yes, we could've had.....

Based on one night? He's sucked this year so far and been a choker his entire career. So he had one good night, that hasn't been the norm lately, or he would still be a King!

Here we go again! Is everyone ready to jump off the cliff again? Unbelievable... We're awesome! We suck! We're awesome! We suck! Newsflash: your team is a young and inconsistent team who sometimes play better than they should and sometimes play worse...that's reality. We are not a championship team, we are not an elite team...we aren't the worst team in the league, we are not a lottery team...we are an average team who MIGHT make the playoffs. all teams have bad nights, all teams have horrible shooting nights, all teams come out flat some nights, just because your team has one of those nights, doesn't mean your team is the worst team in the league and all players on the team not named kobe need to be traded. This place is practically unbearable to visit after a loss. Chill out, guys!

And if we had won last nights game, the title of your thread would have been "Odom is better than Peja."

That's all this is: ranting about a loss.

Basketball teams win and lose as a team. The way to get this team to win is to improve the team play, and that's Phil Jackson's job.

Odom is a part of this team, and he plays a big role in every win. You have no idea about how the other players and coaches feel about Odom and his contributions to this team. There is a big reason why he was not traded for Artest, and will not be traded, except for an impact big like KG.

And that reason is his team contribution to the Laker's wins. Something that may not show up on a stat line or through your blinkered video game mentality.

I'll take Odom over Peja everyday of the week. They call Kobe 1-dimensional, Peja is the definition of that. I'm well aware that Odom is having problems right now but I don't think we can inaugurate Peja as the second coming of Larry Legend. We saw him in a game where he and his team were hot and the Lakers were just not.

He's an all star, the problem with his is that he is so injury pone and that makes him un reliable, but he's better than Odom ( which is not an achievement )

No, he isn't...He's a better shooter, but that's about it. Don't let your hate cloud your objectivity.

Peja has nothing to offer besides his shooting, which disappears in crunch time. He cost the Kings their chance at the championship because he is a choke artist.

Something tells me that these same fans would be beating up on Peja if he was on this team. You can never satisfy fickle fans.

To be fair, Lamar Odom isn't exactly Miller Time when it comes to crunch time. Untimely offensive fouls, wide-open misses, questionable decisions in general...

I'd say it's better to choke in the clutch and be good in other times than to choke the whole game including in the clutch like Odumb.

So, what negative can you say about Peja..

Bad defense.
Not a clutch player..

Well...duh...like Odom does any of that

Only thing Odom has on Peja is rebounding and it ends there.
Other skills Odom can really use in streetball but definitely not in this kind of team and level of basketball.

At least Peja has benn in an all star game

The problem is that he is injury prone

I know we are supposed to hate on him cuz he was on Sacramento when they were oir rivals

Odom is not better than Peja, is just healthier

Peja a choke artist ? What about Lamar ? Is he a clutch player ?

A healthy Peja >>>>>> Odom and U know that

people dont understand that the loss came on the second of a back to back.. those are always tough. On any team. so I dont make much of it. I've been saying during this whole "odom sucks" phase that all these people will be the first to call im "god" once he starts playing solid. and I believe that he will.. all in time..

Didn't say he was Miller Time, just said I think he's a better player than Peja. And you act like odom always chokes, I can think of a few times this year he has made clutch shots or plays, and do you remember the golden state game last year when kobe was hurt? Seem to recall him going one on one and winning the game for us in the final seconds...He also took a team of rookie d wade, brian grant, eddie jones and an injured caron butler to the second round of the playoffs. For some reason, people seem to forget the good things he's done trying to hate on him. Guess what, Kobe is usually clutch, but even he makes stupid plays, but he gets a pass because he's kobe, right?

Don't even bring up his Miami stint. Wade was the one carrying that team during crunch time. The final Indiana game in the playoffs is the ultimate proof of that.

He's done good things...in Miami....and without Kobe (GS game)

Odom is a very good rebounder. Tha's it.

Peja's an all star. He's also a good rebounder and a very fundamentally sound player.
His shooting would be amazing in the triangle.

We all thought of Odom as a perfect triangle player last year..
Well look at him now.
Low IQ. Something we all ignored.
Peja would be much better, no doubt.
