I think the Lakers need to at least have discussion about this. Thoughts

The Kings won't trade Cousins. And the FO won't panic over a couple of SL games like the fans do.

Pass on DeMarcus Cousins.

He's exactly what the Lakers don't need now.

An expensive player who doesn't create wins, much less a winning team.

Bad attitude.

Selfish player.

A hothead, locker room nightmare.

Let him be the team karma killer somewhere else. I'm very grateful he's with the Kings today, because as long as he's there, he's not here and he crapping in the pool of his own team.

Reportedly, the Lakers were more than happy to trade Russell and others for Cousins. The Kings asked for Russell, Randle, Clarkson and picks.

Maybe an inside/outside combo of Cousins/Russell could be our secret to success? Russell could get the ball to Cousins and Russell could make opposing defenses pay with Cousins being double teamed. I would be more then happy with a trade like this:

Lakers get: Cousins

Kings get: Randle, Clarkson, Black and Lawson

Nuggets get: Hibbert

Then sign Serapin with the room exception.

Our roster would look like this:

PF-Bass/Nance/Kelly
SF-Bryant/A.Brown
C-Cousins/Serapin/Upshaw
PG-Russell/Bykes
SG-Young/Williams/J.Brown

How could Russell do that if he was traded for Cousins?

"Best" as in an expensive nightmare ?

Am curious about how paying such a negative team presence anything - let alone paying $45M+ over the next three seasons for the privelage - helps the Lakers more than using that money for other smarter, synergy-producing talent.

A discussion among Laker bigwigs about bringing in Cousins now would be a short one. I shudder at the thought of the added delay he represents to the club in terms of making runs at championships.

True, one shouldnt overreact to a few SL games. But from what I saw, Russell is an absolute winner (stayed agressive even when things were going poorly, played smart defense, tried to make the right play even though pressure was on him to be great) while Randle played like a loser (barking at teammates, wasnt ready for passes, disinterested in defense, ball stopping with lots of forced shots, set very poor picks, didnt look like he had worked in his shot).

Randle is coming off injury and did show flashes of real talent. But Im concerned he has the entitlement gene and may struggle accepting that Russell is going to get a lot of attention. I hope Im wrong.
