I "met" Julius last year right after we drafted him. He was buying jewelery at the beverly wilshire. I went up to him and said whats up, and the guy didn't really even look in my direction. I thought it was kind of odd since im pretty sure not too many people knew about him at the time since he literally was drafted not too long before that. So yeah the kid is a dick, but oh well, as long as he produces

Maybe his momma taught him not to talk to strangers? _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

JR will learn how to play the offcourt game. These dudes are targets and probably arent equiped to deal with the mix of characters that show up once they become part of the league.
Lol that first one was hilarious for some reason. I don't know if that makes me a bad person.
Anyway, it's clear he's not rejecting every autograph. I think as he grows as a NBA player, he will learn how to be a better professional in all aspects.

That was weird. That was before the Minnesota game, and he kind of just emerged high up in the stands, and took this winding route down to the tunnel that took him a couple of minutes. He didn't acknowledge anyone during his walk, including that kid. Not sure whose bright idea it was to have him go on a 2 minute walk through rows full of excited Laker fans.

All that matters is that he is a bull on the basketball floor.
I'll take rebounds over autographs all day. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

I'd encourage every basketball nerd to do this at least once. It's almost like the basketball version of Comic Con, where players, scouts, GMs, writers, etc. descend on one place for a few days. Here is my hodgepodge of experiences. You saw the on court stuff, so I'll leave that out.
You didn't say when you were there, but this year I only had a chance to get to LV for Tuesday night through Thursday. Next time let me know if our times overlap, and I'll get you better access.

Thanks, Larry. I had my eye out for you all weekend, but it looks like we missed each other. I went from Friday, 7/10 through Monday, 7/13.
The weekend was super fun. Wish I could have stayed longer to see more games. It really is a hoops geek heaven. Can't stress enough how many Laker fans were there and how bonkers they were going for every play.

I didn't have any interactions with him personally, but he didn't give anyone the time of day on a few different occasions, and was generally rude about it. I don't have any belief that athletes owe fans their attention, I just thought he was kind of (bleep) about it, in ways that other guys weren't. Between that and his demeanor on the court/bench (barking at teammates, sulking), I'm less of a Julius Randle fan than I was before the Summer League.
More out of curisoity than anything else, was this a pre-game or post-game observation? I know that a LOT of players have routines, and many players don't want to sign autographs right before their game.

I was there as well and even in warm ups he kinda has this "I'm too big for this (bleep)" attitude.
