Quote: | Report: Pacers sign Glenn Robinson III to three-year deal
The Pacers have continued filling out the end of their bench with young players. On Saturday, they signed Glenn Robinson III to a three-year deal, his agency told Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports:
Free-agent forward Glenn Robinson III has agreed to a three-year contract with the Indiana Pacers, his agents Austin Brown and Aaron Mintz of CAA told Yahoo Sports.
Robinson, 21, became an unrestricted free agent after the Philadelphia 76ers declined to make him a qualifying offer.
Robinson was a second-round pick by the Timberwolves in 2014. They waived him midway through his rookie season, and he spent the rest of the year on the Sixers. He averaged 4.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game in 35 games between the two teams — 25 in Minnesota and 10 in Philadelphia. |

They also traded for Rakeem Christmas a 2nd round pick from the Cavs on Friday.
From having 1 player 24 or under last season to 6 now.
Bird now has a roster with 7 players removed from last seasons roster. Chances are he is not done with the moves the Pacers only have 4 guards and none are true point guards, I look for him to probably trade a wing or Mahinmi for one. |

Not tanking rebuilding, the smash mouth style they were known for was no longer possible after David West opted out of his contract. They had soured on Roy Hibbert and his lackluster play and his sulking on the bench and in the locker room.
So after the Warriors won the Championship playing small ball Larry Bird decided it was time to change their style of play. Bird hated being the lottery last season, even tho the team was decimated with injuries Paul George missing 76 games, George Hill missing 38, David West 16, CJ Watson missing 25 , and periods with Rodney Stuckey and CJ Miles missing numerous games they missed the playoffs by a tie breaker to the Nets.
Bird will not allow the team to tank. He feels by drafting Myles Turner and Joe Young, signing Monta Ellis, and Jordan Hill, trading for Chase Budinger and Rakeem Christmas and signing Glenn Robinson 3, he is rebuilding with a more athletic and younger team. While still being in the hunt for a playoff spot 6-8 in the east.
Paul George according to Larry Bird will play a large number of minutes at pf in the revamped line up. Gone are West and Scola both 35, CJ Watson and Chris Copeland 31, free agent next summer Roy Hibbert 29 all replaced by younger more athletic players.
So no the Pacers are not tanking they are retooling in an entirely different style of play. They have 3 years to rebuild playing a style Paul George should flourish in before he can opt out, which they hope he will choose not to. So no PG is not available. |

I think a healthy Pacers team could be a very tough team for the Cavs this Winter. Spreading the floor with shooters ... |
