Really 2.0? Relax. The man deserves to ride off into the sunset.

I knew the article was going to bring some of the haters out.

He has not done more harm than good, but I think 30 years is long enough. Just time for a new generation with newer ideas on training. It is not like this guy was a hack, in fact at one point he was the best in the league.

Best wishes to Vitti in his final season.

Bye.

But who will break the bones and sprain the ankles of our favorite Lakers?

Seriously though, congrats to him. Wish he could still rock the perm.

Good stuff, I'm sure he's really proud of having been part of the franchise for so long. I appreciate what he's done for the Lakers and wish him the best in his last season and going forward.

It'll be interesting to see what direction the Lakers go for his replacement. Hopefully they get somebody who's willing to work on the cutting edge of sports science. This is another opportunity for the Lakers to flex their financial muscle and try to get somebody who really has a reputation for excellence within the industry. I don't know who that is, but hopefully the Lakers do.

Wish Vitti the best. The past seasons have been rough. Randle might have been the straw that broke the camel's back.

Looking to the future, I hope the team embraces all the latest attempts to help prevent injuries by looking at analytics, biometric testing, etc. ... especially with their new training facility under construction, getting a new cutting edge, tech savvy staff to go with it would usher in the next era.

God these kinds of jokes make me laugh far far more than they should.

All the best Vitti, hope to see you wining and dining our players on Backstage Lakers.

My enduring Vitti memory - watching our trainer attend to a bleeding Magic Johnson without using universal precautions.
