Quote:
Don't really know where to start.. Although I'm from Nor Cal LA has raised me, from coming here at 17 to attend UCLA on to pros....

It was a dream come true the first time I put that LAKER uniform on & step on the purple & gold court.. But wat might hv been just as amazing as playing for the Lakers was being a small part of helping a historically bad franchise become one of the best franchises & teams in the league!

I took ALOTA pride in that because I felt when I came in the league I was the "clippers" so to speak..

Doubted passed over & not really spoken about.. Now hate me 👀or love me ima household name & the clips are a force to be dealt with! I came here a boy & I'm leaving as a man! You've seen the Good times & the Bad, never claimed or tried to be perfect but wat i did try to do is ALWAYS STAY REAL & TRUE TO MYSELF!!

The one thing you can't deny is every time I stepped on the court I left absolutely EVERYTHING out there! I think I know better than anyone "This is a business" so you can NEVER get your heart involved, but I can't lie, this (bleep) hurts for a lot of different reasons..

As my run in LA has come to an end I wanna thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for the LOVE, SUPPORT & $h!t even the hate, all of that has made me THE MAN I AM 2day!! To Live in Die in LA it's the place to be 🎶🎶 hahaa YALL take care & #THANKYOULA

I think some of these comments are unwarranted. Barnes is a good guy and good player, and works pretty hard, and was a good Laker. I'm not understanding the hate.

Good guy.

Had he played for Phil Jackson or Greg Popavich, he'd be regarded as a great role player on a championship team.

I always look at wannabe tough guys like him and Allen Iverson and wish I could trade places with them. They can come live in the hood like I do, where they can be around all their peers...sit around all day and do nothing but look stupid and act a fool. Meanwhile I'll be in a Hugo Boss suit, speaking proper english and respecting the game....oh yeah, and dating some of the most beautiful women the world has to offer.

Now that he's off the clippers I can wear my "Matt Barnes will kill you" t shirt again.

He can thank jim the 'idiot' buss for ruining that chance.

Just imagine 2013 lakers with Phil Jackson instead of the 2 mikes

Oh where is he going?

... To the Grizz, eh? Interesting.

I mostly liked Matt when he was with us. He mostly calmed down the fake tough guy thing. I think he'll have to do that again in Memphis, I don't think the pseudo-gangsta thing will fly with the culture of that team. Could be a good change for him (I mean...anything is better than the culture/attitude of the Clippers so...)

If only the 2011 Lakers with Barnes were able to get to the Finals to make it 4 consecutive trips... sigh.

Sorry... You lost me right there. Pound for pound, one of, if not THE toughest player to ever play the game.

Ok, that's cool is that's how you feel. To me he was a selfish ball-hog that jacked up alot of shots, ran down the shot-clock with his over-dribbling and only cared about stats. Combine that with the tacky attire, lack of professionalism and his inabilty to humble himself and you can have him. That's just not the type of player I'd want on my team. But hey, to each his own.

You guys are crazy. I love the Lakers but damn, even I would have trashed the Lakers org, hearing all the crazy stories (and probably only about 5% of all the crazy stories inside that place).

D'Antoni being backed by management was a total cluster****. Alienated Gasol for sure, as well as others. Management was backing that douche against anybody and everybody. Players be damn.

I'd rather have him, who works his rear off night in and night out than the some of the scrubs that people rooted for this last year.

I'm assuming you've never heard Matt Barnes in an interview. he's actually very articulate and soft spoken. completely different from when he's on a basketball court.

Only he did play for Phil Jackson and wasn't known as a great role player on a championship team.
