We already have one clown on the team in Nick Young. Do you really want to make it a troupe?

it really doesn't matter. signing either one is scraping the bottom of the barrel...

if I really have to choose, I'd take McGee... fun, energy guy that will make us laugh Shaqtin a fool style... Upshaw has a lot of baggage that will make people

That's a tough one: Do you go with the potential knucklehead, or the proven one?

Javale would have been a better fit on the teams in the last couple of seasons. But this year's team doesn't feel like a very good fit for him.

Which was detrimental to Wall's development.

Tough call for the Lakers or for us to vote. We don't have all the facts.

Not a fan of McGee. He is just a stupid basketball player. Also we have no clue how his leg is. Has there been any info on his health? His entire upside is based on his freaky athleticism, if he does not have that then what is the point?

The Upshaw situation is baffling. He showed some solid promise. But obviously something has happened to stall the signing. I continue to remind myself that there was a reason two college programs kicked him off the teams and every other GM in the League has not been interested in him. Long shot at best.

Would prefer Upshaw if he can earn the spot.

I am not as negative about the prospects of Hibbert (26-28mpg) being backed up by Sacre and Black as some. If the Lakers can upgrade great, if not so be it.

... nice post.... I'd prefer Upshaw as well and am baffled as to why all the drama regarding his not getting signed.... As I see it Upshaw at least represents potential upside, not so much with McGee anymore it would appear....

There is no upside if a player cannot play, and that goes for Upshaw and McGee.

True, but with Upshaw, if you can lock him up in a long-term vet min deal, with team options, that's not a bad investment. Give him a year to work with the LA staff, etc. McGee is a waste of time.

BINGO.... which is exactly my point.... I'm not expecting that much in the near term obviously, but by "upside" I mean of course given time....
