Kobe mentioned it before publicly that they talk a lot. He would call Michael and ask him for advice

The bit about "stole my moves" makes me laugh. I know he's joking around but even he must admit all greats copied something from someone. There's no such thing as originality, never has been.

"I just felt like he was just talking. It's a debate. The thing is that we would never know. I think we would have killed them. He thinks they would have killed us. You guys decide. It's just a debate."

Listen to MJ's voice. He knows his Bulls would get beat down.

Kobe: MJ, I'm trying to go out with 6 rings like you! But my team sucks! What do I do!?

MJ: Have your team trade Russell, Randle and Clarkson to me for Al Jefferson. He can be your new Pau Gasol!

Kobe: OMG GENIUS! YOU'RE THE BEST BIG BRO!

MJ: Anything for a brother from another mother am I right?

The most surprising thing about that whole vid was his lack of reverence for Phil. I would have expected him to say something about not being wrong either way when picking between Dean Smith and Phil or something. He was very definitive about answering and then saying Phil was lucky to have him.

That's what I was surprised with the most. Sounds like he doesn't have much fondness for Phil.

Most people don't. Phil isn't exactly a people person. Which made it hilarious that he is known as the Zen master of balancing egos.

The biggest ego he had to balance was his own

Out of all the bridges Phil has burned, I always thought the one player he got along with the best was Jordan, though. And maybe Luke Walton lol.

Phil lives by the zen maxim that blood is thicker than water.

That same tone when asked about the Lakers beating the Bulls creeps in his voice when asked about going one-on-one against Steph or Bron. "Right now, or when I was in my prime? Right now? Buddy, I couldn't beat -- well, I'd go against [Stephen] Curry because I'm a little bit bigger than him. So I could kind of back him in. But LeBron is a little bit too big." Gotta appreciate he guy trying to give what the crowd at his camp wants to hear. He knows the truth though lol.

Phil is the type to stab you in the back to make a few bucks. Dean Smith was a totally different kind of person.

I think MJ is just more sensitive about any idea, however minor, that Phil is due significant credit or his rings/success of that he couldn't have won then without him.

To be fair to MJ, you can't find a player prior to him where you can say MJ is a clone of him. But you can say Kobe is a clone of MJ, moves, mannerisms, right down to the fist pump.
