Chill dude we have to play the same number of games against each team anyways
It balances over a period |
Not really. If you wanted to maximize losses for a young team, you would load them up on road games early, but you would make them the softer road games so that after they are done with that gauntlet (and lose more of those winnable games than they would once they gelled), their reward is to play the tougher teams. |

Agreed. The schedule isn't the best for us. |

You want to play the bottom dwellers late in the year when they're tanking, and the below average teams at home once you rookies are clicking.
But, that doesn't take health into account. |

If you were to devise a schedule for maximizing the wins with a team with a lot of young talent and new faces, you'd want a balanced schedule throughout in terms of home and away, and you would like to see the early hme schedule a bit heavy on bad teams (get those sure wins), and the road schedule a bit heavy on the better or mid tier teams. That way, as the schedule progresses and your team improves, you are playing the bad teams on the road more (maximizing your road wins), while playing the good teams at home more (when you are more competitive.
This is the exact opposite of that schedule. |

I don't care, the only thing mattered is keep young group developing. If you can't make progress just because of the schedule, then you are not that good. |

April is brutal if we find ourselves on the playoff bubble. We start and end with the Celtics and the Jazz, but in between we have the Clippers back to back, the Pelicans, and then the Rockets and Thunder back to back. 7 games in 11 nights. |

Yep...
For me, This season is all about the Russell Watch and soaking in Kobe's final run. _________________ Whenever the Lakers benefit all of a sudden rules need to be changed and trades need to be blocked.

We have a first half we can build momentum and a second half of the season that will bury us in the lottery if we didn't gain any ground during the first half.
We gotta bank in some wins early if this is gonna work if we want to make a 2nd half season push cause that's when the schedule gets its hardest. |

Well, for a team destined to finish below .500 in April, the Lakers appear to be set up for an immediate gut punch and right cross to the face right out of the starting bell: they travel for what appears to be 22 of their first 33 games. An eight game December road trip ? Tough enough for anyone, but brutal for a young and inexperienced team.
Oh baby, the league didn't do our Lakers any favors. |

Its a misleading stat. It uses last years winning percentage so the fact that the Lakers had a horrible record means they helped their opponents get higher winning percentages. That same stat will say the best east teams have the easiest schedule. |

Thanks for the schedule, as many have suggested there's an opportunity for this club to get a good start if they can play reasonably well on the road right out of the gate... _________________ Rule = win titles

I counted 28 nationally televised games (NBA TV included). Not bad considering I live in another time zone. I'll have to get ballstreams or league pass to view the rest. |

I think the Lakers have a lot of winnable games in Oct/Nov even on the road. Except for @ GS/Mia/POR IMO. But if they can't squeak out the road games, could be a brutal start.
They're gonna have to feast in Jan/Mar to have any legit playoff hopes.
If Kobe makes it through the season, at least his last game will be in LA. |

Last year schedule was tough, I knew we were going to be bad especially with that roster. This year schedule is much easier and we have a better roster. |
