I've heard Michael Frazier has a 2yr min deal with Lakers - $50k guaranteed and D-Fenders as plan B

For clarity, Michael Frazier will sign with Lakers in the next few days - agreement in place but not officially inked yet

Some highlights:

Might develop into a legitimate sharp shooter for the Lakers. At least he's a hard worker, so that's always good.

Are these folks just for camp or trade assets or something? Who are all these random folks we keep signing and for why?

Some of you need to chill and just let the Lakers do their business. The team is set for the most part. There's no harm in looking for gems, bodies for camp, NBDL to stash, etc.

That's literally what I just asked.

And besides its not like I posted my question on one of the Baking boards I belong to. I'm on a Lakers board talking about Lakers stuff. Not unreasonable.

He plays like Jodie Meeks.

Shoots 43.5% from the three point territory.

According to his DX scouting report ...he does a passable job considering his shooting ability. Find it interesting he went 0-11 in Summer League.

Defensively, Frazier can use his length to bother opposing shooting guards but being slightly undersized may hurt his ability to be a plus defender. While his overall athletic tools are on par with many shooting guards, he doesn't show multi-positional versatility. With that said, he has learned under a strong defensive coach in Billy Donovan and puts in a concerted effort on this end by moving laterally well, closing out strong and rotating crisply to be both a solid on and off ball defensive player. He will need to contribute on defense to work his way into a NBA rotation.

Frazier has some potential as a spot-up shooter who plays capable defense, which is an increasingly important role in today's NBA, and the weakness of this year's draft class at his position will certainly bolster his chances of getting picked. Even if he does not on his first go-around, he will get many opportunities in summer league and training camp due to his shooting prowess, and if he puts in work to round out the rest of his game, either in the D-League or elsewhere, he could certainly emerge as a viable NBA player later in his career.

We go through this every offseason, and people ask the same question, every single year.

Decent signing. Lakers don't really have a knockdown shooter on the team. Best case scenario, he becomes a knockdown shooter for cheap, worst case scenario we just cut him.

Why Michael Frazier could be the NBA's next undrafted sleeper.

Interesting write up on the kid.

Solid pickup. Potential 3 & D guy down the line. The Lakers have done well in UDFA with Upshaw, Holmes, & Frazier. Decent chance that one of them will be a rotational player in the NBA.

A good video...Byron and Bryant type of guy. I remember Ray Allen having a similar approach to his craft.

Maybe, who knows. I think it's odd when people "police" on-subject discussion, like Lakers talk on a Lakers board.

Lakers seen what came of Clarkson and they are going to work. Upshaw, Holmes, Frazier. The front office is putting in work. LOL, the Lakers FO is one of the hardest working right now. I am impressed with their diligence in acquiring young talent.

Frazier is an awesome pickup, he can shoot the lights out. The Lakers are doing the right thing right now. They are acquiring the best young talent available. They swung and missed on their goals this offseason, but I think they are doing a good job with the backup plan.
